It starts with one girl and one STEM club meeting.

She’s unsure at first; by the end of the session, she’s leading her table. That’s what we call the Full Circle Model: learner becomes educator, educator becomes community leader. We’ve watched this cycle repeat in South Carolina and in Vihiga County, Kenya since 2016. It works because girls don’t just learn STEM; they own it, then pass it on.

What happens after a girl joins InspireHER STEM Club? We help create a pathway from curious learner → confident builder → future innovator.

For schools, that means STEM becomes more than another enrichment activity.

For families, it means their daughter has another place where her questions are welcomed.

She didn’t ask for help. She picked up the pen and started building.

This is SheBuilds 3D Club, where K-12 girls in Columbia, SC get their first hands-on experience with 3D design tools used by real engineers and product designers.

No experience needed. Just curiosity.

Every girl who holds that pen for the first time is doing something most adults have never done. And she knows it.

Once she has mastered the skill, she becomes the mentor, growing her leadership confidence and leading the team to the next level. Peer to peer learning remains our greatest strength.

For our young learners, teaching them block based coding and 3D modeling is more than just a fun way to engage in learning.

It is math in real world, motor skills, coordination, teamwork, collaboration, problem solving, engineering design and sometimes even a great time for parents and siblings to bond when they work together.

Getting more girls interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) takes a whole village.
