Summer Break Café is back! Richland Library is participating in Summer Break Café by serving free meals this summer at three library locations:

🍓 Edgewood | 2102 Oak Street, Columbia, SC 29204
🍉 North Main | 5306 North Main Street, Columbia, SC 29203
🍇 St. Andrews | 2916 Broad River Road, Columbia, SC 29210

A safe space where kids and teens ages 18 and under can get a free meal; lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. every Monday-Friday, June 3-July 31 (except July 3).

Francis Burns United Methodist Church sponsors the program, which is administered in South Carolina by the South Carolina Department of Education.

For more than three decades, Brian and Susan Thomas have helped shape the Forest Acres community through their leadership, volunteerism, and unwavering commitment to serving others.

At tonight’s City Council meeting, Mayor and Council were honored to present a resolution recognizing the Thomases for their extraordinary contributions to Forest Acres, including founding the Forest Acres Neighborhood Association (FANA), serving on City boards and committees, supporting community beautification efforts, and helping establish lasting partnerships through the Forest Acres Festival.

Their dedication has strengthened our neighborhoods, enriched our community, and set an example of what it means to be engaged citizens and good neighbors.

Please join us in thanking Brian and Susan for their many years of service and wishing them all the best as they begin a new chapter in the 💚🩵

🗓 4th Saturday each month — 10AM–12 Noon

Our volunteers don't just deliver food—they deliver comfort, consistency, and community.

And sometimes, if you volunteer long enough, you start coordinating outfits with the Volunteer Coordinator. 😄 (We're looking at you, Bill and Evan!)

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program starts June 8! Seniors can receive $50 in vouchers to use on fresh fruits and vegetables at participating farmers markets.

To receive your vouchers, you must come in person and bring a valid ID. Limit 1 voucher per person.
