We are so excited to share that Adeline has been accepted into the program Tucker's House! A non-for-profit program that provides home modifications for families of children with disabilities to make their homes safer and more accessible! Check out Adeline's story and project on their site.
We have been overwhelmed by the continued support by so many to give Adeline a quality of life worth living. Through your generosity, Addie is now able to get to vital medical appointments and explore her community, rest comfortably in a bed that provides the much needed support for her neck and spine, and is continuing to see her world and create art with eSight. She also received the gift of a fence for her service dog that she greatly looks forward to welcoming home!
Through your compassion and support, Addie is getting stronger and her needs for accessibility are gratefully growing. After years of being confined to one room and her bed, your gifts have given her the ability to start living! Any donations received will continue going and growing with the necessary adaptations to provide Addie the care she needs, independence she deserves, and life-changing accessibility that allows her livelihood to continue and flourish.
Right now, that means focusing on home modifications for Adeline such as a concrete driveway to give access for ambulance and van pick-ups as well as give Addie the ability to exit her room in her power chair safely (due to the slope of the grounds and stairwell, Addie cannot reach a bathroom or the main floor safely), ramps for the main floor entry, and widening doors for her power-chair. As well as an accessible bathroom (as of now she is confined to her basement room and depends on self-care items all from her hospital bed). These modifications will not only assist Adeline, but also her 24-hour care needs-helping her mom (who also struggles with chronic illness) to take care of Adeline daily without injury).
Thank you for the love and generosity everyone has given. You have given Adeline a chance to live life fully, and we are forever grateful!

It’s been an incredible year made possible by all of you!

Thank you for your continued prayers & support to give Adeline a quality of life worth living! As Addie’s health changes, needs evolve. We will be printing & shipping canvas “thank you’s” beginning November 22, 2024…just in time for the holidays!

Our gofundme has enabled Adeline to receive life changing care and more independence! Our gofundme remains open for those who would like to continue donating to Adeline’s life changing medical needs. Gofundme is unable to receive donations in exchange for goods or services, so we are going to be personally placing order requests for her prints to assist in this new need. All monetary gifts to receive Art by A. McKenna’s “Calla Lily” will go towards a special service dog fence with a double gate ambulance entrance to Adeline’s room. In order for her to receive her service dog from Canine Assistants, the fence and this gate access is needed.

Adeline’s first encounter with a Canine Assistants’ Service Dog was in the hospital when doctors could not get her heart rate down and pain controlled. We watched as this special dog helped to do both. Adeline has been accepted into the Canine Assistants’ Program and we are so grateful!

Canine Assistants support all costs associated with the care of her new furry family member for its lifetime. Adeline’s service dog will be trained in specific skills tailored to Addie’s needs and be able to give life saving alerts to her caregivers to enhance quality of care, independence, and help prevent emergency room visits and hospital admissions. We can’t wait to share Adeline’s journey when we receive the call that her service dog is ready to come home!

Once the amount has been raised for this project we will no longer have the Calla Lily print available. This helps to keep Addie’s first print unique and special for all those who give towards the cause. As Addie’s needs continue to evolve, other original prints will be available per project to make Adeline’s life and home more accessible. Watch our social media for updates and more .

“Just: used a lift, to get into a wheelchair, to go into a wheelchair accessible van; to go to our friend's new café; to “roll” around & see the town I live in for the first time; to sing/scream Taylor Swift with the windows down on the drive back home; to lift back into my bed & have a “good tired” kind of night’s rest, which was another of many “firsts in years” …so that’s cool!”

— The joy we feel at getting to see messages like this from our sweet Adeline as she gets to see the world for the first time again is insurmountable. Yesterday, for the first time in many years, Addie got to leave her house; not for a doctor's appointment or medical emergency, but to go enjoy the simple magic in moments of everyday life. She got to take her best buddy & “little brother” Ash out for “not-hot-chocolate” (his favorite signature drink) Muletown Coffee Roasters. She got to soak in every sunbeam and detail of being; from the fluffy clouds in the vast blue sky, to the world passing by that you never see in the windowless ambulance rides. And listening to the birds chirp, as the sparrows stole popcorn kernels from the old brick streets of the square. The seasons are changing for the first time in too long, and we are so thankful to breathe in every minute of it; thanks to the ever giving and continuing kindness of our community, as we work to let her grow with her world and every step.

Thank you so much to the wonderful people at Plain Values!

AMS Vans has given us the thumbs up to keep funding after hearing the generosity of so many giving and sharing our GoFundMe! They have extended the date to Friday, September 15th!

We are over half the way there! The van total with the conversion and ramp to safely carry Adeline reclined in her power-chair is $63,439.20. We are so close and have together raised $43,540.00!

We couldn’t be more grateful! Together, we can do this! Let’s give Addie the opportunity to not only survive, but live!

This is one of our favorite pictures of Adeline and her little cub. There is so much behind this picture that can’t be explained in a post. There is great loss, pain, and triumph.

This picture was taken after we transferred Addie into her powerchair from her bed for the first time in 3 years of being bedbound.

Adeline’s life has been filled with suffering… she doesn’t share just how much because she cares so deeply for those she loves. We have captured countless pictures of Adeline’s “thumbs up” letting us know she is ok since she was a little girl in her first of many ICU hospitalizations that kept her for months encased in medical trauma and the fight to survive.

She always puts others first, smiles, shares her wit & wisdom … even when her body is on fire. She is a light…a marvel. When you meet her, you look at life with a different point of view. This van will change her life to be able to access vital medical care… it will also change her life to be able to show up for this little cub.

We couldn’t be more grateful! Together, we can do this! Let’s give Addie the opportunity to not only survive, but live!
