A testimonial from one of EA Team volunteers:

"America is not for the soft-hearted ones." đź’”

Recently, I met with a Palestinian brother today to help him navigate our EA program.

When we wrapped up, something he said stopped me in my tracks and made me think about what it really means to leave behind everything you’ve known, hoping to build a better life for your family, come to a completely different land and find yourself at the mercy of strangers' kindness.

It's sad to think about what he has gone through, but I'm so grateful to be in a position where I can offer even a little support and kindness — because sometimes, that's exactly what people need most.

As-salamu alaikum dear brothers and sisters 🤍

Lately, we’ve seen something beautiful across Minnesota—neighbors standing guard outside our masajid while we pray, helping keep our children safe, and showing up for us in ways that remind us: they see our humanity.

Moments like these open hearts. And there’s no better time than now to share the message of Islam with sincerity and care.

At Building Blocks, our Dawah Team is doing this work year-round—meeting people where they are, answering questions, and building real connections.

đź’ž Opening Minds & Touching Hearts
Through our Know Your Muslim Neighbor program, we’ve reached over 20 cities—presenting in hospitals, schools, and community spaces. These are essential bridges. Our Dawah team also hosts the State Fair Dawah Booth, where thousands stop by—but it’s the one-on-one conversations that stay with us:

• A young woman, born Muslim but distant from her faith, was moved to tears just hearing “As-salaamu alaikum”—leaving with hope to return.
• An older couple grieving for Gaza found comfort simply being able to share their pain.
• An Ethiopian Christian woman connected with us over faith, ending in a heartfelt, supportive hug.

Have you ever witnessed a shahadah at the masjid and wondered what happens after the hugs and takbeerat?

At Building Blocks of Islam, we believe the Shahadah is not a finish line - it is the beginning of a lifelong journey for all New Muslims, and no one should walk this journey alone.

With your help in 2025, we were able to support converts facing domestic violence, homelessness, isolation, and financial hardship—providing essentials like Qurans, prayer rugs, clothing, and emergency aid.

Your support helps provide:
• $50 – Eid grocery gift card
• $100 – Shahadah packet (Quran, prayer rug, resources)
• $250 – Modest clothing for a family
• $500 – New Muslim programs and support

As we enter the last 10 days of Ramadan, keep Zakat ul Fitr in mind (âť—)

To keep families and volunteers safe during recent ICE activity, we’ve been distributing grocery gift cards to families in need.

Right now, requests for aid in our local communities total nearly $40,000. Through our New Muslim Project and support for Afghan refugees and families impacted by ICE, we’re preparing to send about $7,000 in additional gift cards.

These cards are either hand-delivered by volunteers or mailed directly to families, ensuring they feel remembered and supported during Ramadan.

Zakat ul Fitr is $15 per family member, make sure to give it before Eid to make sure it reaches in time.

Dear brothers and sisters, last week a sister of ours, a single mom with a 5 year-old and a toddler, could not keep up with her rent after the company she worked for closed down. After receiving an eviction notice from her landlord, she frantically reached out to us. Alhamdulillah we were able to provide timely help and stop the eviction filings. She was so relieved and grateful that her children still have a roof over their heads.

Her story is just one of many that we would like you to hear. Please join us this Saturday 28th 4pm at the Mounds View Community Center and share in the khayr of building together a community that stands with the most vulnerable.

Last week, a mom of 3 (soon to be 4!) reached out for help after her husband lost his job. She had been working through a bed rest order, doing everything she could for her family even when it took a toll on her health. We were able to help her get caught up on bills — and hopefully, give her space to rest and breathe again. 🤍
