Wreaths Across America

Wreaths Across America Dec. 19, 2026, is National Wreaths Across America Day! REMEMBER the fallen. HONOR those who serve. TEACH the next generation the value of freedom.

Start a fundraiser: https://oclp.goodunited.io/Pz4NBOg6 What began in 1992 with a trailer load of 5,000 wreaths, placed by volunteers and laid at the graves of servicemembers laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery has now become a national organization with over 4.200 participating locations, with more than 3 million volunteers – a third of who are children – who support the yearlong mission to Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom.

Navy Veteran James Wesley Buckley

"James Wesley Buckley. Served in the Navy from 1963-1975, he volunteered as a river rat in Vietnam from 1968-1969. He received a Purple Heart after a mortar struck their patrol boat, sending shrapnel through his body. (Till the day he died, he would sometimes sweat out little pieces of metal). He served most of his time as a machinist mate. Was stationed in Alaska, San Diego, Corpus Christi. He never talked about the war. He enjoyed reading military novels and drinking Jim Beam. Passed away on his 60th birthday, September 12, 2005."
