Montana State Old Time Fiddlers Dist 1 A group of Northwest Montana musicians committed to the preservation and performance of traditional old-time acoustic fiddle music throughout Montana.

District 1 became active in the mid 60's. Our district extends from the Idaho/MT border to the Continental Divide and from the Canadian border down to St. Ignatius in Montana. We offer activities, jams and educational opportunities for musicians and listeners of all ages. This is a group of lively members who enjoy getting together to jam on the fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, Dobro, ect. Most mo

nths we meet the 3rd Saturday of the month. We have members who have been part of this group for over 50 years and some who just joined this month. There are some great multi-talented musicians and also some hopeful folks who are just starting out with the fiddle, to learn something new :o)
It's invigorating to sit and watch the experienced players pass on their love and knowledge to the next generation of musicians!! "As a musician it's so wonderful to listen to all the different versions of the same song being played, with all the improvisations and harmony being added," junior member. "It's rewarding to see such enjoyment on the faces in a crowd, too." So even if you're just passing through, feel free to come join our jam session or most current event! The great thing about these instruments is they can go with you wherever your travels may take you!

Hi Everyone!!
Looking forward to jamming with as many of you as possible THIS Sunday, June 21st from 2:30-4:30 at Buffalo Hill Terrace Assisted Living in "the cafe” 40 Claremont St, Kalispell. Go in the covered main entrance and walk down the hallway to the right....and keep going....following signs for the cafe.

Also a reminder that we have been invited to play for the Badrock Farmer's Market in Columbia Falls on August 2 from 11am-1pm. Please mark your calendars and let us know if you can make it!

We have been graciously invited to play at the annual Northwest Montana Antique Power Association's Threshing Bee!! This is an educational, fun, all-day community event on September 12, playing tunes from 11-1:00. Please don't miss this incredible opportunity to play old-time tunes at an old-time event. Such a perfect combination!!
Anyone who wants to join us from out of town, talk to Sharon about accommodations.
