Reminder: Tonight from 6:00-8:00 PM the Planning Commission will meet to discuss MLUPA adoption recommendation, Title 17 Subdivision and Title 18 Zoning Regulations adoption recommendation.

The City of Columbia Falls encourages public participation. The public are welcome to provide comment during designated public comment periods as indicated on this agenda. Public comment will normally be limited to three minutes per individual.

Written public comment can be provided to the Planning Clerk Caleb Sobczak at [email protected] or delivered to City Hall by 2:00 p.m. the day of the meeting. Written comments should include name, address, should be short and concise, courteous, and polite. All written comments received by 2:00 p.m. will be provided to the City Council prior to the meeting. Written comments will not be read aloud unless otherwise directed by the presiding officer.

Weblinks to attend the meeting via Zoom are on our website. We request you add your full name to your virtual ID. Due to occasional technical difficulties, the most reliable way to participate is through in-person attendance. Electronic means are not guaranteed. Columbia Falls Aluminum Plant (CFAC) Superfund Site-Related Meetings and Teakettle Heights Subdivision
Wednesday, May 27th from 6-7:30 p.m. – Liaison Panel Meeting at The Hub in Columbia Falls, 533, First Avenue East. CFAC, EPA and DEQ officials will present to the public their updates and timelines on cleanup efforts at the Superfund site northeast of Columbia Falls at the base of Teakettle Mountain.

NOTE: The Coalition for a Clean CFAC has signed a contract with Ian Magruder, Senior Hydrogeologist at WWC Engineering, Helena, to serve as technical advisor for the CFAC Superfund cleanup through an EPA Technical Assistance Grant program. His role will be to meet with EPA, MT Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and CFAC representatives regularly, review, interpret and explain technical reports, site conditions, and EPA's cleanup proposals and decisions concerning the CFAC Superfund site. He will make this information available to the Coalition Board of Directors as well as in public presentations in Columbia Falls. Watch for more details in local press.
