Summer Meals Update 🍽️

The Wildcat Garden will be a host site for summer lunches again this year. We will be handing out lunches Monday - Thursday from 11:00 - 11:30am, June 17 - Aug 19th. We will be handing out weekend bags every Friday at the garden from 11:00 - 11:30am, June 19th - Aug 21st.

The Columbia Falls School District will have multiple locations for summer meals. Glacier Gateway will be serving hot breakfast and lunch Monday - Thursday, June 22nd - Aug 23rd. Breakfast will be served from 9:00 - 10:00am, lunch will be 12:00 - 1:00pm. These meals must be consumed on site.

There will also be to-go food pickup locations in the Canyon. Please reference the graphic included in this post for those locations and times.

Last Friday was our last garden lesson for the school year🌱

Farmer Caroline and Farmer Olivia taught 44 lessons with 776 unique students this school year. 86% of students tried a new kind of food, and over 90% learned something new.

It was an amazing school year, and we're so thankful for the opportunity to teach the next generation about gardening and nutrition. Special thanks to Farmer Caroline and Farmer Olivia for all of their hard work this year, and Garden Manager Rachel for keeping the Wildcat Garden so happy and healthy. 💚

Our community fridge is OPEN! 🪴

The community fridge on the front porch of the Wildcat Garden Building, located next to the Columbia Falls Junior High, is open to the public. This is a free community resource for fresh produce.

How it Works:
- Community members with extra produce from their gardens or farms can donate it here.

- Anyone in need of some fresh produce can come grab what they need from the fridge.

- Please do not take produce from the wildcat garden. Any extra produce harvested from the garden will be put in the fridge by Land to Hand staff.

- DO NOT leave extra groceries in the fridge; this is for locally grown, fresh produce only.

The fridge might not fill up for a few weeks, so please be patient!

We will be at the Columbia Falls Community Market tonight! This is the only Market in CFalls that we will be attending this year, so if you want to sign up for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program at the Columbia Falls Community Market, tonight's the night! The Whitefish Farmers Market starts tonight! Come see us from 5:00 - 7:30 tonight to learn about our Farmers Market Food Access Programs. The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program has officially started, and we will have applications at the booth tonight. You can also learn more about our Double SNAP Dollars program and School Coins when you stop by. We'll see you tonight!

We had an incredible time at our Plant Start Sale yesterday at the Wildcat Garden! Our Garden Club members did a great job helping our guests find the perfect plant starts for their gardens. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our Farm to School Education programs 🌱
