Thank you to everyone who came out to support our first Paintball event.

It was a great day, a lot of fun, and such a nice opportunity to spend time together outside of our usual unit activities.

We are so grateful to all of the cadets, families, and supporters who joined us and helped make the event a success. A special thank you as well to our alumni who came back to be part of the day — it always means so much to see your continued connection and support for the unit.

Events like this are such a great reminder of the strength of our NJROTC community and how much fun it is when we all come together.

We are already looking forward to doing it again next year.

Yesterday, our unit gathered for one of the most meaningful traditions of the year — the Change of Command Ceremony.

Through the passing of the unit flag from one Cadet Commander to the next, we witness a powerful symbol of continuity, responsibility, and trust. In the naval tradition, a Change of Command represents the formal transfer of authority, responsibility, and accountability from one leader to another. For our unit, it also reflects the passing forward of stewardship for the cadets, the traditions of the program, and the standard of leadership that helps hold the unit together.

It is a reminder that while individual leaders may change, the strength, pride, and spirit of the unit endure.

One Unit.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our outgoing staff for the tremendous year they have given to this unit. Their leadership, dedication, and countless unseen hours behind the scenes helped shape the experience of so many cadets and continued the traditions that make this program so special.

We also want to congratulate our incoming staff and wish them a tremendous year ahead. We have every confidence in their ability to lead with pride, purpose, and heart, and we want them to know the unit and the Parents Club are behind them every step of the way.

Thank you to all of our families and supporters who continue to stand behind these cadets and this program.

Congratulations to our CNHS Brain Brawl Team — Cadets Gulka, Monchinski, Stark, Currie, and Cooper — on becoming National Champions!

We are beyond proud of these cadets and all of the hard work, preparation, commitment, and teamwork that led to this moment. Their incredible performance at the competition is a reflection not only of their knowledge and discipline, but also of the countless hours they have put in to challenge themselves, support one another, and compete at the highest level.

To reach this stage and earn the title of National Champions is an extraordinary achievement, and this team has represented CNHS with excellence, pride, and determination every step of the way.

This is a moment to celebrate not just the win, but the dedication, resilience, and leadership that made it possible.

We are so proud of Cadets Gulka, Monchinski, Stark, Currie, and Cooper for this amazing accomplishment and for the way they represented our unit on the national stage.

Congratulations, National Champions.

What a day for our NS1 cadets.

This past Saturday, many of our freshmen stepped into AAD competition for the very first time and what they showed was so much more than performance. They showed courage, teamwork, resilience, and pride.

This is where leadership begins.

It begins in the practice, in learning the skills, in trusting your teammates, and in finding the strength to push through the nerves and step onto the floor ready to give it your all. Competition is about more than results, it is about growth, confidence, and the willingness to challenge yourself even when it feels hard. Our freshmen did exactly that, and we could not be prouder of them.

A heartfelt thank you to all of the parents, families, and cadets who came out to support our team. Your encouragement, energy, and presence meant so much, especially for a group of cadets experiencing this moment for the first time.

And a very special thank you to our older cadets, who once again showed what this unit is truly about. Yes, they volunteered their time to help make the competition a success, but even more importantly, they showed up for our freshmen. They cheered them on, encouraged them, stood beside them, and helped create the kind of environment where younger cadets could feel supported and successful.

That is what being part of this unit means.

It means showing up for one another. It means leading by example. It means understanding that success is not only about your own performance, but also about how you help lift up the people around you.

That spirit was on full display all weekend from cheering on the PT team, to supporting our 2-Person Exhibition teams, to watching and encouraging Drill and Drones. The pride, support, and unity in the building was something special.

We are so proud of our NS1 cadets. We are grateful for our upperclassmen. And we are thankful for the families and alumni who continue to stand behind this program and these cadets every step of the way.

One unit. One team. Leading and supporting each other every step of the way.

Tomorrow is a big day for our NJROTC unit! 🎉

We are hosting our final Clothing Drive of the year and cheering on our cadets at the Freshman AAD Competition!

We hope everyone will consider dropping off a few bags to support the program and remember, 4 bags = 4 hours of community service!

After you drop off, please stop in and cheer on our freshman cadets as they compete. It’s a great day to show our support and celebrate all their hard work!

Thank you, as always, for supporting our cadets and the CNHS NJROTC program!

🚨 PROVEN LEADERSHIP 🚨

Congratulations to senior Alexander Maravelias on his commitment to Montclair State University! 🎓

Alexander will be graduating with the Class of 2026 and heading to Montclair this fall to major in Business Finance. We are incredibly proud to see our cadets taking the discipline and leadership skills they’ve built here into such competitive academic fields.

Join us in wishing Alexander the best of luck as he begins this exciting next chapter!
