Problems don't become expensive overnight.

More often, they start as small warning signs that go unnoticed.

⚠️ Delayed shipments
⚠️ Quality issues
⚠️ Equipment downtime
⚠️ Production bottlenecks

The most effective manufacturing teams don't wait for problems to grow. They create systems that make challenges visible early, allowing teams to respond quickly and keep operations moving.

Visibility isn't just about tracking numbers—it's about giving people the information they need to make better decisions every day.

How does your team keep work visible across the operation?

Every manufacturer has problems they know about.

Late shipments.
Equipment downtime.
Staffing challenges.
Production bottlenecks.

But some of the most expensive problems are the ones you don't know exist yet.

The process weakness that only shows up when demand spikes.
The critical knowledge held by one employee.
The hidden inefficiency that's costing time and money every day.

By the time these issues become visible, they've often already had an impact.

Manufacturing Modernization Assessments help manufacturers uncover opportunities, identify risks, and build a roadmap for future growth before small problems become big ones.

⛳ A great day on the course for an even greater cause!

Yesterday, we hosted our Charity Golf Classic at Bear Valley Country Club in Victorville, where 10 teams came together to help raise scholarship funds for vocational training programs.

Golfers competed for:
🏌️ Longest Drive
🚙 A Hole-in-One Jeep Prize
🎸 A Limited-Edition Fender Guitar and other raffle prizes

Most importantly, every swing, raffle ticket, and sponsorship helped support workforce development opportunities for future skilled trades professionals.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, sponsored the event, volunteered, and helped make the day such a success. We truly had a great time doing good for our community.

Stay tuned—our next Charity Golf Classic is coming this fall! 🍂

What happens when demand suddenly spikes? Or when a supplier falls behind? Or when a key employee is unavailable?

Many manufacturing operations don't discover their vulnerabilities until they're under pressure.

Agile manufacturing isn't about moving faster. It's about building the flexibility to adapt when conditions change.

In Part 2 of our Agile Manufacturing series, we explore how manufacturers can:

🔹 Make work and priorities visible

🔹 Identify and address bottlenecks before they limit growth

🔹 Build resilience through cross-training

🔹 Foster a culture of continuous improvement

The most successful manufacturers aren't the ones that avoid change. They're the ones who are prepared for it.

📊 Organizations that embrace agility don't just survive change. They turn it into a competitive advantage.

Some leaders build companies.

Others help build communities.

Wallace "Wally" Brithinee has spent his career doing both.

As Board President of MCIE, Wally brings decades of experience as a manufacturer, entrepreneur, and industry advocate. From helping develop industry standards to supporting workforce development and regional partnerships, his work has always focused on helping manufacturers succeed together.

One of his core beliefs is that manufacturers often face the same challenges—and that collaboration can unlock solutions no single company could easily create on its own.

That mindset continues to shape MCIE's mission of supporting manufacturers throughout the Inland Empire.

So here's something to think about:

What is the biggest opportunity for manufacturers to work together today?

Congratulations to The Peggs Company of Riverside, California, winner of the Marketing Innovation Award at the 2026 Manufacturing Innovation Awards Dinner.

The Peggs Company, a third-generation Inland Empire family business serving grocery and retail customers, was honored for its Matrix Series — a reimagined line of shopping carts designed to create a quieter, smoother, and more durable in-store experience.

The Matrix Series is engineered to resist vibration and misalignment while giving retailers customizable branding options that align with store décor.

Made from 100% recyclable polymer materials with modular parts, the carts combine sustainability, customer experience, and retailer differentiation in a meaningful way.
