It is with a very heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Ryan Carbone. A 25 year member of the CWA.

Ryan Carbone has been with Verizon and a union member since October 2001. He started his career in buried services and worked as a Lineman/Splicer, a Fiber Technician, and a Customer Service Tech 1. What Ryan thought was a cold beginning Tuesday eventually led to him being admitted to the Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar when he began coughing up blood Saturday at 2:30 am. His condition over those hours worsened and succumbed to pneumonia. He was 44 years old. He is survived by his wife Serena and daughter Jessica, his mother Elsa, and brother Robby.

The CWA Bargaining Committee alerted the Locals in the Frontier unit that we have a Tentative Agreement. The committee is now putting together everything to share with the Presidents. As soon as we have details we will share.

We keep rallying before every shift in support of our Bargaining Committee. After a disastrous transition, bankruptcy, a global pandemic, executive payouts, and now a multibillion-dollar sale to Verizon ( #30 on the Forbes 500), we expect dignity and respect. After three CEOs in less than a decade, it’s time the workers — many with 20+ years — got their fair share.
