Artist Statement
Tyler is an artist with a medieval compulsion for precision. He modestly passes his days meditatively engrossed, gouging away, much like 15th-century knuckle draggers in Antwerp. Some days, he doesn’t even feel the need to put shoes on. He takes his time and produces relief prints and drawings depicted sharply, retaining hypnotic vibration. When not creating images, his so-called purpose is to locate obsolete neighborhood abstractions, or antiquated rural myths. He also takes cartoon clouds very seriously.
