Friends of Colquitt, Georgia Cemetery would like to say thank you for all of your support this year!
Because of your generosity, our contract with our meticulous groundskeeper will be funded through the end of the calendar year. Your continued support is so much appreciated because a new calendar year starts in just seven short weeks.
Several projects have been completed, including the removal of stumps across the front of the cemetery, planting of bulbs around the entrances that will bloom next spring, and updating the cemetery directory with all burials since 2019. Four Christmas wreaths were purchased for the front entrances for the upcoming holiday season, and 1,000 fans were made that were donated to the local funeral home for distribution during the summer months.
The cemetery was blessed by additional generous donors who provided sod for an area with a serious erosion problem, specialized chemicals to treat resistant weeds, paint (and painted) the caps on the brick columns at both entrances and—our largest gift—repairs to the two main roads.
Other notable achievements include receiving 501(c)(13) status from the IRS and the first bequest to start a perpetual care fund for the cemetery. None of this would have been possible without the generosity of “Friends” who want to honor the final resting place of family and loved ones.
