Hello Papeton and surrounding neighbors! Our volunteer neighborhood organization (not an HOA) has been established for over a year so we wanted to give a re-introduction and a few updates.
We are an volunteer run non-profit organization. Our mission is to organize community programs, advocate for the needs of our community, and host events that bring neighbors together.
So far we have:
-Advocated and obtained $750,000 for the improvement of Flanagan Park & $750,000 for a study to determine the feasibility of rebuilding the pool at Portal Park
-Organized an annual neighborhood Trick or Treat
-Organized the return of the Venetian Village Yard Sales
-Publish a monthly e-newsletter
-Obtained $7,000 to repaint the Portal Pool House, in preparation for a community mural
-Established a native flower garden at Portal Park
-Supported garden beds at Edison Elementary
-Established a Parks and Trails group for cleanups
-Host monthly neighborhood socials every 3rd Wednesday from 6-8pm at Storybook Brewing
We are always open to new ideas and suggestions that will help neighbors and improve our community.
Thank you to all neighbors who have cooperated together to make all of this possible. Working together works!
