Jeff spent his school age years in Ecuador which has facilitated his work with the Hispanic community both in and out of the US. Jeff is a licensed pastor, holds an MBA in international business and has spent the past decades in media production and strategy. Currently, he is the Training and Resources Manager and Lead Counselor. He is married to Yolie, a licensed counselor. As a couple, they have the privilege of working with families. Does your care receiver suffer from Urinary Tract Infections (The dreaded UTI)?

UTIs are very painful and can cause lasting kidney damage. If your CR is non-verbal, here are some signs to look for.

Can you answer a few additional questions.

Painful Urination (Dysuria):

1. Experiencing burning, stinging, or pain when you urinate?

Increased Urgency:

2. Feeling feel a sudden, strong need to urinate more frequently than usual?
Increased Frequency:

3. Urinating more often than usual, but often passing only small amounts?

Lower Abdominal Pain or Pressure:

4. Feeling any pain or pressure in your lower abdomen or pelvic area?

Cloudy, Dark, Bloody, or Strange-Smelling Urine:

5. Noticeable changes in the color, clarity, or smell of your urine?

Fever or Chills:

6. Experiencing fever, chills, or a general feeling of being unwell?

Pain in the Lower Back or Flank:

7. Any pain in the lower back or side, especially around where your kidneys are located?

Call your primary care provider right away if you suspect a UTI.

Are you looking for someone who understands? Someone who has been where you are? Someone who can help navigate the road ahead?

Being a family caregiver can make you feel like a ringleader in a 3 ring circus!
There are acrobatics that test your flexibility, lions and tigers that test your courage, clowns that bring light to difficult moments, and something going on every minute. Don't take your eyes off of the stage or you may miss something exciting!

We've been there and we will be here with you. Caregivers Circus exists to provide Community, Advocacy, Resources and Education for family caregivers.

Join us on the first or second Saturday, every other month. Learn new skills and leave encouraged!

Our next meeting is Saturday July 12, 2025, from 9:00 - 11:00 am, at New Spring Church on Colorado Springs.
