Fountain Valley Bass Club

Fountain Valley Bass Club FVBC is friendly fishing club focused on learning and a cost effective way for to get into tournament fishing. Club dues are $80 for an annual membership.

The Fountain Valley Bass Club is located in southeast Colorado. We meet at Trivelli’s Hoagies, 6827 Space Village Ave, Colorado Springs CO the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Meetings are not mandatory and members attend as they are able. Meetings are where club decisions are made (schedules etc..). If you want to have a voice on club decisions it is good to be at meetings. Membership inclu

des registration into the Colorado and National TBF organizations and membership into the Fountain Valley Bass Club. These dues allow you to fish FVBC tournaments, Colorado TBF tournaments and National TBF tournaments if you qualify. All of our club tournaments are held at Pueblo Reservoir. The tournaments are team format with 2 anglers per boat working together to bring in 5 keeper bass. We have some teams that fish together for most of the season while most of us change who we fish with each tournament. Tournament entry is $60 per team and that includes $10 for a big bass pot. All boats used must have an operating live well capable of keeping your bass alive, weight penalties are assessed for dead fish. Last year FVBC had a 100% live release rate, no fish were killed and that is always our goal. The Colorado TBF tournament is used to determine the Colorado State Team. These team members travel to fish in the Southwest Divisional against other states. The top two members from the State Team qualify to fish for a TBF National Championship where the grand prize is a $100,000 prize package including paid entry in to the next years FLW Professional. Overall, we are a pretty laid back club. We have some very good fishermen that have done real well at the national level. We have low fee tournaments that are a good place to get your feet wet if you want to give tournament fishing a shot. For more information please check out our website www.fountainvalleybassclub.com and feel free to stop by one of our meetings.

Good morning FVBC! I just got off the phone with the park ranger from Trinidad. He stated last week there was confusion about the self check in process at the park. To avoid any issues, all boats will need 1 of the following to conduct self inspection: 1. A seal and slip from Trinidad, 2. A slip from another park with it stating it has been decontaminated, or 3. Am off water inspection and slip conducted at the CPW station near the truck weigh station. The reason this is important is because of sunrise times. Both days sunrise will be 5:32am which puts safe light at 5:02 am. The check station doesn’t open until 6am. With that said, our morning meeting both days will be at 4:30am. Please have your boats prepped and ready to go so we can have a quick meeting and boat draw. Also, the registration cutoff will be the Wednesday before as usual. With these being 2 one day tournaments, we will do an optional $20 side pot for combined weights between the 2 days. That can be paid the morning of the 13th. Let us know if you have any questions.

Hey everyone. I’ve been dealing with some computer issues trying to create a flyer for our Annual Night Open. Date will be July 18th. Registration will open on June 1st and you can sign up on our webpage. We are limited to 25 boats like last year and we filled up before our cutoff. We have some great new sponsors this year already and we are working on more. Save this date for what some call the best open tournament in Colorado.

Here are the results and pictures from today’s tournament. Our next club meeting will be on June 2nd and our next club tournaments will be June 13th and June 14th at Trinidad. These will be two 1 day tournaments like we have done in the past. More details will be discussed at our meeting and posted here. Thanks for everyone who came out today. Congrats to the dream team Ryan and Dominic for another 1st place finish.

Good evening FVBC! We are excited to announce another sponsor for our Night Tournament. PizzAmore’ has generously donated gift cards and their locally produced Mile High Hot Honey. Bob Bailey and myself went there for lunch today and nothing can prepare you for the experience you will have. Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, you’re greeted with a patio with outdoor optional seating. Walking inside, the decor, seating and bar catch your eye and it feels relaxing and cozy. You also can get a glimpse of the kitchen and their signature wood fired oven. The staff is friendly and wants to treat you like family. The menu is jam packed with appetizers, salads, signature pizzas, their build your own pizza/calzones, and mouth watering deserts. We ordered the bruschetta, the hot honey pizza and calzone. The bruschetta came out looking like a masterpiece. Sourdough bread with mozzarella, tomatoes, basil and the balsamic sauce really let you know you were in for a treat. Then came the Hot & Honey Pizza. Wood fired Neapolitan pizza with little pepperoni cups that held their signature Mile High Hot Honey and some fresh basil. Words cannot describe the flavor profile and ride it will take you on. I never have tried Hot Honey on a pizza but the sweet tomato sauce, the pepperoni cups with a slight taste of honey and finishing with a tap dance of heat that isn’t overwhelmingly hot but a perfect balance that will just make you smile. The calzone came out looking like a fluffy wood charred pillow with stringing mozzarella, sausage, and another meat Bob chose. It also came with a side of marinara sauce. Jesse the head chef, who is the mastermind behind these creations, explained the trial and errors of creating the Hot Honey. He wanted something unique and wanted to use Colorado honey. This place is a must go to and a hidden gem. They have live bands, car shows, trivia nights etc. This establishment is an experience that I’m not questioning if but when I will be back.

Happy Monday FVBC! Just a reminder that our registration for this Saturdays tournament will close Wednesday night. With that said, we will be having our meeting at 4:45am in the North Marina parking lot by the bathrooms. Somehow there is 4 other tournaments that day, ABA, DBM, CWT, and a kayak tournament so it will be a little busy. Again, the meeting and boat draw will be at 4:45 so make sure you give yourself time before to prep your boats. Have livewells and lights on. Here are the links to signup:

The Colorado Junior Bass Club is still in need of 6 boat captains this Saturday. The format is a little different than the championship as the captain will be able to fish as well. If you’re interested, comment on this post and the Junior Club will get in contact with you.
