🦋 FAMILY FRIDAY | FACTS THAT MATTER

When a mother is incarcerated, the entire family feels the impact.

According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, approximately 58% of women in state and federal prisons were mothers of minor children in 2016.

Behind those numbers are children missing their mothers, families navigating separation, and women hoping for an opportunity to rebuild.

At Infinite Hope & Restoration Ministries (IHRM), we believe restoration goes beyond the individual.

Through recovery housing, parenting education, reentry support, and family restoration, we help justice-involved women work toward stability and stronger family connections.

Because when we help restore a mother, we create opportunities to strengthen a family and impact future generations.

🦋 Monday Moment of Hope | A New Beginning at DWCF

Our first day at Denver Women’s Correctional Facility!

Executive Director Tonya Kent and Vice President Lacy Ruffin had the opportunity to meet with three mothers, and what a wonderful morning it was.

Sometimes hope begins simply by showing up—creating a safe space for women to learn, grow, be encouraged, and remember that their story is still being written.

We are grateful to God for opening another door for IHRM to serve justice-involved women and support mothers as they work toward healing, restoration, and stronger families.

And a special thank you to Lacy for being an amazing teaching partner. 💕

This is where hope meets purpose—and restoration begins. 🦋

Stable housing matters in successful reentry.

A 2026 national analysis found that about 1 in 8 women on parole reported moving three or more times in the previous year—a rate nearly 8 times higher than women who were not on parole. Housing instability can disrupt employment, treatment, transportation, family routines, and other parts of rebuilding life after incarceration.

This is why IHRM's work matters. Recovery housing is more than a roof—it can provide the stability from which restoration begins.

🦋 WHY WE SERVE

For many women, incarceration doesn’t affect just one life—it affects an entire family.

Recent research continues to show that mothers who are incarcerated face significant barriers to maintaining relationships with their children and rebuilding family stability after release. Housing, employment, recovery support, parenting resources, and a strong community all play a role in successful reentry.

That’s why we serve.

At Infinite Hope and Restoration Ministries, our work goes beyond providing a place to stay. We help women rebuild stability, strengthen family connections, access resources, and move forward with dignity and hope.

Because when a woman is given the support to rebuild her life, the impact can reach generations.
