Whispering Eagle Ministries Building homes to care for orphaned children in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

WEM began by establishing a site in Muanda, a town on the west coast of DR Congo, just north of the Congo River, because Len and Ans had previously been involved in that area. The vision is to build 25 “family homes,” each one caring for 12 orphaned children. Each group of children would be under the shepherding of national house parents and firmly based on the love of Christ, their true Father. A

ll of the homes would be built on the 50 acres that we already own and along with those homes, we envision at least two schools, a clinic and a church. We would use these latter buildings, not only for the ongoing lives of the children, but also for reaching out to the surrounding community.

Today and tomorrow, Project Cure trainers with WEM volunteers supporting, will be conducting HBB (Helping Babies Breathe) classes to local nurses and midwives. We had 16 participants from 5 different facilities; including head nurses, simply awesome! The great part is that each participant who passes the examination will be rewarded with their own infant ambubag, mask and suction.

Fabulous work by the medical team from Project Cure and support staff reaching out to hundreds of patients in Muanda, DRC. Had fun conducting health classes for the kids. Trained local nurses from four different facilities on HBB ( helping Babies Breathe). The nurses were so proud of their trainees when they witnessed a live birth using their newly taught techniques. No running water, cold bucket showers, concern over Ebola; minor sacrifices compared to the joy we all experienced from the work we did. I am so proud of everyone involved. Awesome to see the smiling faces of the kids. Special thanks to Corinne Domahidy; what an amazing leader and enthusiastic encourager. Thank you to sponsors, supporters, prayer partners and friends.
