Protein 4 Helping Others is excited to be a part of Springs Rescue Mission’s World Hunger Day event. P4HO will be providing youth-raised protein for this meal. The Mission has now used all of the protein previously donated by us following the El Paso County Fair, so we are reaching out for support.

We are currently seeking:

Donated protein
Monetary donations, which will help cover processing fees and the purchase of livestock
We are also happy to accept already processed protein if you are in need of freezer space.

World Hunger Day May 28, 2026



Hunger is not inevitable. It is created by systems we have the power to change. Every day, people around the world are proving that transformation is possible: farmers regenerating their land, women leading local governments, youth launching climate-smart innovations and communities organizing for their own development.

This year’s World Hunger Day celebrates the contributions we all make: the hands that plant seeds, lift others up, learn new skills, build solutions, share knowledge, raise voices and open new futures.



And it invites the world to join them.

Greg’s Story:

Before entering the year-long recovery and job training program at the Springs Rescue Mission, Greg was struggling with anger, isolation, and addiction that was taking control of his life. Determined to change, Greg worked hard to rebuild his faith and learn to trust a healthy, supportive community.

Through his training at the Springs Rescue Misssion, Greg gained valuable butchering skills while helping process donated livestock from Protein 4 Helping Others. In his graduation speech, he shared, “That pile of animals helped pull me through.”

Today, Greg is sober, thriving, and working as a butcher at a local grocery store. His journey is a powerful reminder of how opportunity, purpose, and community can transform a life. 💚
