From GotQuestions: Is it really true that all things are possible with God?

Expecting a blank check ignores his perfectly holy nature. Grasping true biblical omnipotence protects your faith from deep disappointment when daily prayers seemingly go unanswered. While the angel reminded Mary in Luke 1 that no word from God will ever fail, assuming He operates without boundaries creates dangerous false expectations. Looking closely at Joshua 4 by the Jordan River and Jeremiah 32 reveals the specific reality behind His mighty power. Grounding your hope in these specific Scriptures brings profound peace rather than demanding actions contrary to His sovereign plans.

From GQKidz: We can be content in any circumstance because of the strength Christ gives us.

Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all this by the power of Christ. He gives me strength." Other versions of the Bible say, "I can do all things through Christ." Does this mean we can do whatever comes into our minds, like fly up into the sky or swim across the entire ocean? What does "all things" mean in this verse?

From Compelling Truth: Dying to self is the paradox at the heart of the Christian life: we lose the life we cling to in order to gain the life God truly intended. From the Old Testament call to humble ourselves and trust the Lord to the teaching of Jesus Christ to deny ourselves and take up our cross, the Bible consistently calls God’s people to surrender self-rule. When we trust Christ, our old identity shaped by sin is crucified with Him and we are raised into a new life defined by His presence and power. This transformation means our lives are no longer centered on our desires but on Christ who lives within us.

Dying to self is not about harsh self-denial or man-made rules but about daily yielding to God’s rule over our lives. As we surrender our will to God’s, we discover that the life we thought we had to protect was never the life that could truly satisfy us. In losing ourselves for Christ’s sake, we finally gain a life marked by freedom, purpose, and fruit that lasts forever.

From Compelling Truth: Each of us wonders what our place in this world is: "Why am I here?" "What am I supposed to do with my life?" "Why did God create me?" In the course of creating all that exists, God chose to create human beings with an identity and a purpose. God created you in His image (Genesis 1:26–27) for a purpose (Psalm 139:13–16; Jeremiah 29:11). We were made to reflect His glory and to do good works prepared for us (Isaiah 43:7; Ephesians 2:10).

God invites us into a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ, offering salvation and fullness of life (John 10:10; Ephesians 2:1–10). When we are saved, we are able to live out why God created us. Our purpose is to love God and others and to reflect His love and glory in all we do (Matthew 22:37–39; John 15:1–11).

From GotQuestions: What does the Bible say about astrology?

Trading divine authority for horoscopes quietly sabotages your genuine faith. Understanding the biblical view of zodiac signs protects believers from subtle idolatry. God actively named constellations like Orion and the Pleiades in Genesis to mark physical seasons, yet humanity constantly attempts to extract spiritual destiny from them. When we evaluate the strict warnings found in Deuteronomy 18 against seeking cosmic omens, a massive tension emerges between modern horoscopes and genuine faith. Believing that celestial bodies govern our daily lives directly impacts who truly holds authority over your soul.

From GotQuestions: According to 2 Corinthians 5:17, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” There are two Greek words which are translated “new” in the Bible. The first, neos, refers to something that has just been made, but there are already many others in existence just like it. The word translated “new” in this verse is the word kainos, which means “something just made which is unlike anything else in existence.”

In Christ, we are made an entirely new creation, just as God created the heavens and the earth originally—He made them out of nothing, and so He does with us. He does not merely clean up our old selves; He makes an entirely new self. When we are in Christ, we are “partakers of the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4 KJV). God Himself, in the person of His Holy Spirit, takes up residence in our hearts. We are in Christ and He is in us.

From GQKidz: You can become more like Christ by learning about Him in the Bible and applying what you learn to your life.

The best way to become like a specific person is by learning about him or her. The best way to learn about Jesus is by reading the Bible and studying how Jesus lived, how He reacted to others, and how He treated people. Once you know Jesus better, you will be able to become more like Him.

From CompellingTruth: There is a clear difference between knowing about Jesus and actually being in a personal relationship with Him. Those who truly know Jesus as their personal Savior have eternal life with Him but those who only know of Jesus will be separated from Him for all eternity. While it is true that Jesus is an admirable historical figure, He is so much more than that. As both God incarnate and Savior of the world, He invites His followers to abide in a close relationship with Him).

Once we become believers, our identity changes into children of God; this emphasizes the personal nature of Jesus and the kind of relationship He desires to have with us. Thankfully, God has given us all that we need to be in a close relationship with Him right now. Along with the Scriptures, we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us who will be with us forever. Ultimately, if we truly know God, we will have a relationship with Him that can never be taken away from us.

JUNE’S THEME: OUR IDENTITY IN CHRIST

From GotQuestions: What does it mean to examine yourself?

Bringing unconfessed sin to the table carries dangerous biblical consequences. Communion and self-examination carry severe stakes, an issue the Apostle Paul aggressively corrected in 1 Corinthians 11. Rampant gluttony and deep class divisions during fellowship meals in Corinth twisted the Lord’s Supper into a self-gratifying mockery of Christ's sacrifice. Misunderstanding this sacred ordinance deeply threatens the spiritual health of believers today. Approaching the table without performing a proper scriptural evaluation transforms a holy celebration into a dangerous spiritual liability.

From 412Teens: Personal identity is one of the most important things to understand about ourselves. Knowing who we are, what makes us tick, what makes us laugh, what gets on our nerves, what brings us true joy—those are essential things to name because that understanding affects everything else. Personal identity affects how we look at life, how we deal with conflicts, and even who we choose as friends.

If I were to ask you, "Who are you?" Would you respond with your name, age, grade, your style or hobbies, or maybe the state where you grew up? All these external things may be a part of you, but they aren’t permanent. They may be facts about who you are today, but ten years from now, many of your responses would probably be different.
