We are ONE WEEK out from our next meeting and training discussion: The Outside Vent - A Window of Opportunity, presented in person by Truck Company Acting Officer, Matt Adkins.

During this one-hour lecture, we will dive into the roles and responsibilities of the Outside Vent riding assignment and how to apply the OV mindset to the fireground as a truck company force multiplier.

We will be meeting on Thursday, September 10th at Peaks N Pines Brewery - Fountain at 6 p.m. This in-person presentation will start around 6:15 p.m. with network opportunities following the training discussion.

About the instructor:

Matt Adkins has been a student of the fire service for
fifteen years. Matt started his fire service journey as a volunteer in his home town in Pennsylvania, eventually becoming a live-in member and tillerman
on a truck company in Lancaster County, PA. Matt was hired as a career firefighter for the City of Danville, VA in 2015 where he worked for five years before moving to Colorado.

Matt currently works for the South Adams County Fire Department in Commerce City, CO where he has spent the majority of his career riding OV on a truck, and is currently assigned as the acting company officer. He is also an instructor for the North Area Truck Academy.

Awesome to the Ellicott Fire Protection District brothers helping out other local departments!

A huge shout out to our friends and comrades in the fire service at Ellicott Fire Department!!! A gratuitous donation of a utility vehicle that was excess too their needs was a major upgrade for CPFD! Our newly commissioned ‘950’ will increase our Crystal Park capabilities!! Transport to training, moving needed response equipment and Command and Control are all better today!!! Thank You Ellicott!!! Ellicott Fire Protection District
