El Paso County Certificate of Appreciation Recipient As the reigning 2026 NIM Miss Colorado Princess, and former Miss Colorado Junior Princess, she shines with grace beyond her years. Sparrow is a recipient of both the El Paso County, Colorado Certificate of Appreciation and the City of Colorado Springs Challenge Coin, presented to her by Mayor Yemi Mobolade in recognition of her community service and leadership. In addition, Sparrow is the Chief Founding Officer of The Sparrow Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Through this ministry, Sparrow and her foundation have made it their mission to ensure that no family leaves a hospital with empty hands or aching arms. Their heartfelt initiative provides memorial teddy bears to mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters who have said goodbye far too soon. While no gift can erase the pain of losing a child, these bears serve as a tangible reminder that their grief is seen, their child is remembered, and they are not alone. This cause is profoundly personal to Sparrow, as five of her own brothers and sisters were called home to the Lord far too soon. Through that heartbreak, she discovered a purpose—to be a beacon of light for others walking through the same storm. As Miss Colorado Princess, Sparrow hopes to leave every person she meets with a little more love, a little more comfort, and a little more hope than before. When she isn’t serving her community, Sparrow dances joyfully with Colorado Ballet Society, where she is part of the Praise Dance Ensemble, lifting her heart and hands in worship through movement. She is a twin, a big sister, and a little girl with an unshakable love for Jesus. With the gentle guidance of her Mama, Sparrow felt called to write books that help children everywhere understand the depth of God’s love—that they are precious, chosen, and wonderfully made in His image. Through her words, she hopes to remind young readers that faith can bloom even in the hardest seasons, and that love, like a Sparrow’s song, can rise above the storm.

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘄𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹! 🤠💗🐴

To me, being a cowgirl is about so much more than boots, horses, rodeos, and a pretty hat. It is about having grit when things get hard, kindness when the world needs more of it, courage to stand up for what you believe in, and enough faith to keep going even when the trail ahead is uncertain.

I am so thankful that I get to represent this beautiful state as Miss Colorado Princess and also be part of the Miss Rodeo America Jr. Royalty family. Both have given me opportunities to meet incredible people, serve others, celebrate the traditions of the West, and learn that true royalty has very little to do with a crown. It has everything to do with the way you treat people and the kind of example you leave behind.

Colorado has taught me to love wide-open skies, rodeo nights, strong horses, hardworking people, and the kind of spirit that does not give up easily. I hope I always carry a little bit of that cowgirl strength with me wherever life takes me.

Here’s to the little girls learning to ride, the women who paved the trail before us, the ranchers and rodeo families keeping western traditions alive, and every cowgirl brave enough to chase a dream bigger than the horizon.

𝑻𝒐𝒅𝒂𝒚, 𝒘𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝑺𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 11𝒕𝒉, 2001. 🇺🇸

I was not alive when the attacks happened, but 9/11 has always felt personal to me because my Mama is a survivor of that tragic day.

For many people my age, September 11th is something we learn about in school, a chapter in history filled with photographs, names, and stories from a day we never experienced ourselves. For me, it has always been more than that. It is part of my family’s story.

When I think about that day, I think about how many people left home that morning believing it would be an ordinary day. I think about the families who never had the chance to say one more goodbye, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the survivors who carried the memory of that day with them for the rest of their lives.

My Mama came home.

Because she did, I have had the privilege of knowing her love, hearing her stories, learning from her strength, and having her beside me through every important moment of my life. That is something I will never take for granted.

So today, when I hear the names of those who were lost, I do not just hear names from a history lesson. I think about their children, their mamas and daddies, their husbands and wives, and all the ordinary moments they should have had together.

Twenty-five years later, the responsibility to remember belongs not only to those who were there, but also to those of us who came after them.

We remember the nearly 3,000 lives that were lost. We honor the heroes who showed extraordinary courage. We pray for the families who still carry an absence that time can never completely erase. And we remember the unity that followed, when Americans stood together in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

I may not have witnessed September 11th, but I grew up understanding that its story matters.

And because my Mama survived it, I will always carry a piece of that story with me.

Today, I am especially grateful that she came home. So I am holding my Mama a little tighter today.

May we always remember. May we always honor. And may we never forget. 🙏

Gabrielle and Michelle, you both make Colorado so incredibly proud. The crowns you wear are beautiful, but what I admire most is the way you lead, serve, encourage others, and represent our state with so much grace! Getting to look up to women like you is such a special part of being Miss Colorado Princess.

No matter what happens on that stage, you have already given Colorado so much to celebrate. Titles may be won tonight and tomorrow, but the kind of example you set reaches far beyond any crown! 💖

At just eight years old, Sparrow Kilgore is already proving that a crown can represent far more than a title. As the reigning 2026 NIM Miss Colorado Princess and the former Miss Colorado Junior Princess, Sparrow has embraced every opportunity to lead, serve, inspire, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Her commitment to community service has earned accolades at the local, state, and national levels. Sparrow is the proud recipient of the El Paso County, Colorado Certificate of Appreciation and the City of Colorado Springs Challenge Coin, presented to her by Mayor Yemi Mobolade to honor her exemplary service and leadership.

In an extraordinary milestone, Sparrow and her nonprofit organization, The Sparrow Foundation, also received a letter of special recognition from President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, commending them for “representing the very best of the American spirit.”

As Chief Founding Officer of The Sparrow Foundation, Sparrow turns compassion into action through a mission especially close to her heart: ensuring that no bereaved family leaves a hospital with empty hands or aching arms. Through its memorial teddy bear ministry, The Sparrow Foundation provides comfort to mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters grieving the loss of a child, offering families something tangible to hold when they have to say goodbye far too soon.

Beyond her philanthropic efforts, Sparrow dances with Colorado Ballet Society. As a member of the Praise Dance Ensemble, she lifts her heart and hands in worship through movement. In addition, Sparrow is a published author of two children’s books, using her words to share messages of faith, courage, hope, and love with young readers. She is also Miss Rodeo America Jr. Royalty, serving as an ambassador and spokesperson for America’s original professional sport - rodeo 🤠!

When a child’s best medical care is far from home, families should be able to focus on what matters most: being together. Ronald McDonald House Charities provides families with a welcoming home-away-from-home near their child’s hospital, complete with warm meals, comfortable accommodations, and the compassion and support of dedicated staff and volunteers.

Last year, I had the privilege of touring my local Ronald McDonald House with Family Services Manager, Ms. Jennifer. I saw firsthand just how much love exists within its walls. At approximately 25,000 square feet, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Colorado can provide a warm, safe, fully accessible home for up to twenty families each night. With two kitchens, spacious dining and living areas, laundry facilities, and indoor and outdoor spaces for children to play, it is so much more than a place to stay. It is a place where families can find comfort, community, and a little bit of normalcy during some of the most difficult days of their lives.

Sometimes, however, a family’s journey takes a heartbreaking turn.

Like The Sparrow Foundation, the wonderful people at Ronald McDonald House understand that while nothing can erase the tragedy of losing a child, no family should ever be asked to walk through that grief alone. And no mother or father should have to leave a hospital with empty hands and aching arms.

Through our continued partnership, families staying at Ronald McDonald House who experience the unimaginable loss of a child are gifted a memorial teddy bear from The Sparrow Foundation. 🥰

It is a small gift for an enormous loss, but sometimes something small can carry tremendous meaning. A teddy bear cannot replace the child who should be going home in their arms, but we hope it can serve as something tangible to hold when those arms feel unbearably empty. A reminder that their baby mattered, their grief is seen, and they are not alone.

🕊️ This year, I also had the privilege of donating a copy of my published book, “From My Room Above the Sky”, which gently explores this sacred question through the eyes of a little one who now lives with Jesus. From this heavenly place, the child watches over their family with love. Rejoicing, remembering, and waiting for the day when Heaven and earth meet again. Written to comfort grieving siblings and parents alike, this tender story speaks to the ache of separation while anchoring hearts in faith. Through soft watercolor illustrations and gentle, hope-filled words, From My Room Above the Sky reminds readers that God is near to the brokenhearted, that every child is safely held in His care, and that love does not end at goodbye. This book was created for families walking through loss. Offering reassurance, peace, and the promise that no one is ever truly gone.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 The Pioneer-Rodeo! 🤠❤️🤍💙

I had the BEST time attending both Night 1 and Night 2 at the Norris Penrose Event Center, and I am still smiling thinking about all of the people I met, the friends I got to see, and the memories we made together.

One of my favorite parts of the weekend was seeing some of my favorite girls, the Pikes Peak Rangerettes! The Rangerettes promote horsemanship, sportsmanship, and citizenship among young women throughout the Pikes Peak Region, and they represent those values everywhere they go. Watching them perform at rodeos across Colorado is always so inspiring to me. I hope to be a Rangerette myself one day, so getting to spend time around these amazing young women is always extra special. 🐴✨

I also loved getting to see some of the wonderful women (& John 😉) from my ballet school, Colorado Ballet Society. Earlier this year, CBS brought Colorado history to the stage through A Colorado Rodeo & Appalachian Spring, a beautiful production set in 1949 that tells part of the story of the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo and celebrates the history of Colorado Springs. It was so fun getting to see my ballet world and my rodeo world come together again! 🩰🤠

I even got to spend some time with my new buddy, Colorado gubernatorial candidate, Victor Marx! Mr. Marx and I have something pretty special in common because we both started non-profit charities right here in Colorado Springs! His organization, All Things Possible Ministries, works to identify and restore victims of trauma, abuse, and human trafficking while sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 🙌

It is no secret that I stand with him politically, but regardless of anyone's political opinion, I can tell you that Mr. Marx treated me with so much kindness. He was genuine, encouraging, and made me feel like what I had to say mattered. I am very thankful I had the opportunity to meet him. ❤️

Of course, one of the greatest parts of the entire weekend was meeting so many of 𝗬𝗢𝗨. Thank you to everyone who came over to say hello, asked for a picture, told me you follow my adventures, talked with me about The Sparrow Foundation, or simply stopped to share a kind word. Every single interaction meant more to me than you probably realize. Being your Miss Colorado Princess gives me the opportunity to meet so many incredible people, and moments like these are what make wearing this crown so special. 👑🙏

Between the rodeo action, the incredible athletes, the vendors, the western traditions, and the energy inside Norris Penrose, there was something exciting happening everywhere you looked!

The Pioneer Rodeo began six years ago as what founder and organizer Jay Dial described as a family hobby event, and it has grown into what he now calls a true community staple. I think that says so much about what makes this rodeo special. It is more than an event. It is a celebration of Western heritage, family, community, and tradition, while still finding new ways to grow, give back, and carry those traditions into the future!

A huge 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 to the Pioneer Rodeo, Jay Dial, Mia Gerrish, and everyone who works so hard behind the scenes, the Norris Penrose Event Center, the contestants, vendors, volunteers, and every single person who made these two nights so memorable.
Colorado sure knows how to rodeo. 🤠🇺🇸

Today, Miss Colorado Princess, Sparrow Kilgore and The Sparrow Foundation are celebrating something far bigger than an organization. We are celebrating the incredible people who have chosen to believe in a mission born from love, loss, compassion, and the hope of making another family's hardest moments feel just a little less lonely.

To every volunteer who has given their time, every donor who has helped place a memorial bear into grieving arms, every business and community partner who has opened a door, and every friend who has shared our mission, prayed for our families, or simply cheered us on, 𝙩𝒉𝙖𝒏𝙠 𝙮𝒐𝙪! 💖

The Sparrow Foundation exists to ensure that no bereaved family returns home with empty hands or aching arms. Every bear we give carries more than comfort. It carries the reminder that a precious life mattered, that a family's grief is seen, and that they do not have to walk through it alone.

I am so excited to be returning to the The Pioneer Rodeo next weekend, and I cannot wait to see all of my rodeo friends again! 🙌

One of the things I love most about the Pioneer Rodeo is that it celebrates the traditions of the American West while bringing our community together for a weekend full of excitement and memories. The rodeo's mission focuses on supporting contestants, local businesses, and the community, making it so much more than just a rodeo. ❤️🤍💙

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭? FOX21 𝐝𝐢𝐝! 🎥✨

What an incredible way to celebrate Colorado’s 150th birthday! I had the best time at the United We Rock Festival at Rock Ledge Ranch, where the afternoon and evening were packed with live music, amazing local vendors, arts and crafts, delicious food, and so much hands-on Western fun! 🤠

With the breathtaking Garden of the Gods as the backdrop, the festival brought Colorado’s history, traditions, and pioneering spirit to life in a truly unforgettable way. Everywhere I looked, there was something exciting happening and another reason to celebrate! 🙌

I even had the opportunity to mingle with our governor, Polis! Although he and I do not see eye to eye politically, we do share something very important: a love for this incredible state we are blessed to call home! Being able to set aside our differences and come together in celebration of Colorado is one of the many things that makes living in the Land of the Free so special. 🇺🇸

Thank you, FOX21, for capturing such a memorable moment, and happy 150th birthday, Colorado! I am so honored to represent the Centennial State as we venture on to another incredible 150 years! ❤️💛💙
