Selah, an invitation found in the bible to Rest, to Ponder to Reflect we see the word used 71 times in the book of Psalms and 3 times in the book Habakkuk, but how often do we really do that? This photo was taken on a Selah Wilderness Adventures supported trip this summer in Ruby Horsetheif canyon!

Four of us walked twenty-two miles into the Bob Marshall in June, straight through a June winter storm. The night we made camp the river crested at 8,840 cfs, more than twice its normal. We slept beside it and had no idea.

Three days later the water looked like this.

Brian was on that trip and wrote the whole thing up. It's the best argument for what we do that I've read.

Twelve women. Two nights. Sisters Cabin in Breckenridge. Our first-ever Women's Snowshoe Hut Trip is three weeks away — and we couldn't be more ready.
The trip is full, so we're not asking you to sign up. We're asking you to pray.
These women are the unsung heroes of Christian ministry — the ones who keep showing up for everyone else and rarely get to simply breathe. They raised their hand and said "I need this." We want to steward that well.
I wrote about the team, the trip, the backup plan if the snow doesn't cooperate (it involves llamas), and what we're asking of you. Worth a read — and worth sharing with someone who needs to hear it.

If you spend enough time fishing you will likely get hooked. If you try to just pull it out it can be super painful but there is a way to easily remove the hook. Check out of video showing you how.

Why Selah Wilderness Adventures Exists

In a world that never stops buzzing, many faithful leaders are exhausted.

Pastors. Ministry workers. Thoughtful Christian workers.
People who pour themselves out for others—often without space to pause, breathe, and be restored.

Selah Wilderness Adventures exists to create that pause.

The word Selah appears throughout the Psalms. It’s an invitation to stop.
To reflect.
To listen.
To remember what is true.

We believe the wilderness is one of God’s most powerful classrooms. Away from screens, schedules, and expectations, something beautiful happens. Hearts slow down. Conversations go deeper. Perspective is restored.

Through guided wilderness experiences—rafting, backpacking, fly fishing, and time around the fire—we help remove two of the biggest barriers that keep people from stepping into the outdoors: lack of gear and lack of knowledge. You don’t have to be an expert. You don’t need all the equipment. You just need a willingness to step away and be present.

Our heart is simple:
• To offer rest for the weary
• To create space for meaningful conversation
• To help people reconnect with God, with others, and with the calling He’s placed on their lives

This isn’t about adrenaline for adrenaline’s sake.
It’s about unhurried time.
Honest conversations.
And letting creation do what it has always done—point us back to the Creator.

Selah Wilderness Adventures maiden voyage on SWA-1 Fly fishing raft. It was a cool start to the day but oh what an incredible time with these men on the water. We got a few fish in the boat but the time to Selah- to rest in the Lord thorough adventure and in the wilderness was something special.
