We had a wonderful evening diving into the research from this past year. Thank you to everyone who joined us as we explored the measurable impact of our Digital Classroom Lessons on teachers and students across five school districts in the Pikes Peak region. Our lessons are making a difference after just one semester of intervention!

It was powerful to gather as a community committed to strengthening youth mental health through consistent, evidence-based practices embedded into the school day. We hope you left feeling encouraged and inspired to bring these tools to your schools and organizations.

Thank you to our wonderful presenter and panelists: Dr. Tatiana Bailey, Deb Mahan, Olivia Grage, Kathryn Zenoni, Jim Johnson, Stephanie Hanenberg, Dr. Lauren Eckhart, Dr. Wendy Birhanzel, and Anne Laye-Cross.

We have much to reflect on and are excited to share more soon!

Class of 2026, that’s a wrap! Thank you for joining us this year, whether through our daily digital lessons in the classroom, Everyday Wisdom at home, or any of our workshops, retreats, and events, you made 2026 one for the books!

We are closing this 2025-2026 chapter with several schools across the Pikes Peak region, hundreds of teachers trained, and hundreds of students practicing and experiencing the benefits of mindfulness, gratitude, and joy. Together, we are becoming strong mentors and role models, navigating the ups and downs of our own lives as we uplift those around us.

And just because school’s out for the summer doesn’t mean MPP is done - catch us at our Free Educator Retreats, events around the Springs, and on our socials - all summer long!

What was your favorite mindful memory from this year?

If you haven’t already had the pleasure of meeting her, we would like to introduce D2 Superintendent Dr. Wendy Birhanzel! Under her leadership, the district has been named the best education workplace in the region and has achieved its highest staff retention rates. We are so excited to welcome her to our panel of experts on June 2nd and hear her thoughts on youth mental health in our community!

With more than 20 years of experience in public education across California and Colorado, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership in Urban School Settings from the University of Southern California, Dr. Birhanzel is an accomplished leader driven by a deep commitment to providing every student with a high-quality education and meaningful opportunities for success. Dr. Birhanzel brings this mission home as a parent too—her own son is a proud graduate of Sierra High School!

As Superintendent, Dr. Birhanzel collaborates with staff and community partners to provide students with exceptional academics and comprehensive support. D2 has partnered with MPP for years to bring our evidence based mental health resources to their students and teachers.

We hope you will join us for this powerful community discussion, and take advantage of the opportunity to engage with Dr. Birhanzel and her expertise.

Meet our research consultant, Olivia Grage! Through frameworks she developed, Olivia asks the questions that push us in the right direction, connecting mindfulness to happiness and well-being. This not only provides relevant results at the end of our year of study, but also allows us to respond in real time to the specific needs of students and teachers in the Pikes Peak region.

Olivia is committed to bringing the scientific focus of the modern western mindfulness movement into conversation with practices that collaborate with, support, and affirm neurodiverse groups, culturally and linguistically diverse groups, and those who have experienced trauma. Her lived experience and broad professional background inform and inspire this commitment.

Olivia is also an avid yoga practitioner and teacher (RYT 500), and enjoys spending time with her family, collaging, meditating, learning new languages, and traveling in her free time.

Come hear her insights and pick her brain at the panel discussion on June 2nd! Link in bio to RSVP.

As graduation season is upon us, we are seeing up close the goals and dreams we have for each and every student - to walk across that graduation stage and see all the hard work pay off. To walk into the life ahead with a deep and sincere love of self.

Graduation can be an emotional time. A bittersweet mixture of happiness, pride, and excitement. Of anxiety for what’s to come, sadness at what’s left behind. Many students are carrying the unseen weight of life on top of their academics across that stage. We hope this is a time that you can lean on your mindfulness toolkit to help finish the year strong and set you and your students up for a successful summer and beyond. Take in these final moments, allow yourself to feel proud of how far you and your classrooms have come.

Whether you are a student, teacher, family, or friend, congratulations! We are so proud of you for reaching this milestone and can’t wait to see what the future holds! Know that you have the resources within yourself and a support system around you to face whatever new challenges come your way.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. These are the questions we need to be asking of our students before they walk the graduation stage. There’s no sugar coating it - if students don’t love their lives, they are not set up for a thriving future. Making sure students are healthy, well-rounded individuals means that they have the skills to face and overcome challenging situations. To get back up if they stumble and keep putting one foot in front of the other. To learn to run, dance, and roll through life’s punches. It’s okay to feel sad, anxious, or angry. And yes, grades are important. Developing positive mental health skills is proven to help amplify the good in their lives, and can boost academic performance too. These are the skills that will carry them to that graduation stage and far beyond.

If you would like to hear more wisdom from Meg, and the research behind our mindfulness practice, join us on June 2nd for our Public Release of Independent Research and Panel Discussion. Details and RSVP at the link in bio! 🧠
