One reason we are moving our pantry hours earlier is because we want to better care for the families, volunteers, and staff serving each month. ☀️

Beginning this month, pantry hours will be:
🕘 9 AM – 1 PM

We are hopeful that earlier hours will help reduce time spent in the afternoon heat while also helping our team serve families more efficiently. Thank you for growing with us as we continue strengthening food assistance efforts in Mitchell County. ❤️

To better help families and volunteers avoid the hottest part of the day, we are moving our pantry hours earlier in the morning. We hope this adjustment makes the experience safer and more comfortable for everyone.

Last Monday, Food Bank of West Central Texas came and invested in the people of Mitchell County! We are so incredibly grateful for their partnership and what it can do for our community.

We were able to serve 441 households with fresh, healthy food including potatoes, apples, carrots, peppers, melons, and whole chickens. All of this food was donated, allowing us to stretch every bit of impact directly back into families.

In total, we distributed approximately 19,600 pounds of food, providing over 126,000 servings of fruits and vegetables and more than 7,000 servings of protein to families. If this amount of food was purchased from the grocery store, it would be well over $20,000! 🤯

This is what it looks like when a community comes together to meet real needs in real time. The next produce drive date is August 10, 2026 from 9:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m.
