As the deadline to select a winner draws near, with less than 24 hours remaining, I require some assistance in overcoming the final hurdle. Currently, I have approximately $480 worth of tickets left, and I believe Heidi Harris has a balance of less than that amount before all 1000 tickets are sold out. The proceeds from these tickets will be utilized to purchase food for baskets intended to provide sustenance to children in Scurry and Mitchell Counties during spring break. The winner will receive the following: at a mutually convenient date and time, a table for six will be set at a designated venue, accompanied by a short presentation showcasing the impact of their contribution to the community. The winner and their guests will be treated to a ribeye steak dinner prepared by Justin Harris, along with dessert and tea, while water will also be available. Upon completion of the meal, the cleanup will be taken care of. Tickets can be purchased at $5 each or in sets of 5 for $20. For those who prefer not to participate in the drawing but wish to support the cause, please contact me regarding potential donation opportunities. Although I don't relish navigating challenging situations, I appreciate it when God intervenes to refocus my attention on Him. Recently, amidst the turmoil in my life, a friend reached out to collaborate on a spring break food drive for families, seeking assistance with logistics and fundraising ideas.
I disseminated a message requesting people to stay tuned for further details and contacted several individuals not to solicit funds, but to keep them informed, knowing they would pray fervently for God's guidance in this endeavor. Remarkably, prior to finalizing plans and compiling a shopping list, I received a phone call with a generous $1,000 donation to support the food initiative. With my mind preoccupied and priorities scattered, it was reassuring to recognize that God was already working on behalf of these families to provide sustenance for their children during the break. Our God is truly an awesome God!

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to our efforts, making the past year possible. Notably, we served 5265 hot meals, valued at $57,915.00, and delivered 104 Thanksgiving meals to families across Mitchell, Scurry, Howard, and Nolan counties. Additionally, we provided $300 worth of snacks for schoolchildren. Thank you to all donors and recipients for your role in our success. We look forward to continued growth in 2026.

Thank you to all who donated, the goal was set at 50, we were stuck at 13 and then a good friend of mine issued a challenge and, subsequently, the donations started to come in. So with all the glory going to God we will not be blessing 50 families, but we will be blessing 105 families. God is always good and always on time!

We initially planned to provide assistance to 50 families, but our efforts stalled at 16 families receiving support. Due to concerns about the potential shortage and rising costs of turkeys as Thanksgiving approaches, this will be our final call to action to secure necessary resources to support a limited number of additional families. For those considering adopting a family, the contribution amount is $50 per family. We will conclude this initiative on Monday, November 3rd, and subsequently place orders for timely delivery on Tuesday, November 11th. The assistance baskets will be distributed to families in Mitchell and Scurry counties. If you wish to participate in this charitable effort, please notify us by Monday, November 3rd. We appreciate your support and extend our gratitude to those who have already contributed.
