But if the host hotel cannot accommodate your request we did make arrangements for room blocks at 2 other close by hotels as follows:
Hotel trilogy by Hilton ( directly across the street from the Desmond. Call 518 869 9100
Or about 2 miles away there is a Hilton Garden Inn. An easy commute to the host hotel. Call 518 464 6666. For either back up hotel just ask for a room in the Buick Club block. There is no special block code. Club of America

Who are the judges at the BCA National Meet. read more below!
Meet attendees are the judges at a National Meet. You and I . People who have, or rebuilt, Buicks. But sometimes judging at the BCA National Meet is a challenge because of the lack of judges. I think it is because some people are intimidated by the thought of judging another's car.
And most people can understand the apprehension to first time judging. As a first time judge I recall being anxious to think I had enough knowledge to look critically at another's car. But the fact is you and I probably looked at our own cars critically over the years and judged them. And what better training than that?
Yet, the judge's training, conducted Friday afternoons, is comprehensive enough to explain the Club's expectations for this program. And, since the program calls for only the team captain to speak with the car owners, I quickly felt comfortable with my assigned task.
We are always looking for judges. And we always hope those being judged will sign up to be a judge.
Honestly, there is no better way to learn about the program than participating in it. And the more judges we have, the less any individual judge has to do, and the faster the process is completed on the field.
For any that do not know, each team is made up of 5 people. The team captain, and 4 inspectors. The team captains are normally chosen from those who have been inspectors several times in the past. So team captains are familiar with the program and the process. Each inspector is assigned one of the 4 areas to judge. Thus your task would be to inspect that same area on each car assigned in the class. Since each car starts with a perfect score, you only mark deductions on your worksheet. So the math is not a big problem.
The team captain is right there with you during your assessment for any questions you may have. At the end of your inspection, you meet with the team captain to report your findings. The team captain will discuss any discrepancies with you for any adjustments to your score. If you or a team mate comes across any of the mandatory deductions, then the team captain meets with the car owner (or representative) immediately. That's the only time there would be any interaction with the car owner while on the field.
Of course you can, and should, be polite to any participants on the field who approach you with a question. We all are, in the long run, ambassadors for our Club. But you just refer questions about the process or the car to the team captain.
There are several benefits to being a judge. Primarily you will form acquaintance with other Club members. How many times have you thought the Buick Club is more than about just the cars, it's about the people too. And this activity puts you in direct contact with other members who share your interests. Secondarily, you will get a much better perspective for your own vehicle. Once you are experienced you will look at your own car in a different way. And lastly, there is some financial incentive in that the morning of the car show the judges are treated to a breakfast. At some shows they are also treated to lunch. We expect to treat judges to a lunch in 2026. There is also a point system for those participating in the program and usually judges get a special pin to commemorate their participation.
The process can be fun, informative, entertaining, and rewarding. And I hope those who have not done so in the past, will take a stab at it this year

• Lunch on your own. There are numerous local restaurants

• Add a stop at Olana State Historic Site .
Olana State Historic Site :5720 Ny 9g Hudson,
The Most Intact Historic Artist’s Environment in the United States
Olana inspires. It immerses the visitor in a great 19th-century
American artist’s vision that lives today as a compelling, creative
laboratory. Frederic Church envisioned Olana as a 250-acre
environment, masterfully combining architectural, agricultural, park and
wilderness elements into a single artistic composition.
From Olana, one can see four states, and Church designed this work of
environmental art around its near and distant views, now considered
Olana’s integral viewshed. After visiting Olana, Mark Twain called it “an
exalted hill of art.” With its vast collections and protected views, Olana
has stood the test of time and today thrives as a public work of
American landscape art.
In the mid-nineteenth century, Frederic Church (1826-1900) achieved
success and fame as an American artist. His skill at aesthetic
composition began with landscape painting and extended beyond
traditional artistic mediums, influencing the development of this
landscape and the spectacular views that make up the Olana experience.
Between 1860 and 1900, Church, his wife Isabel, and their four children
created a 250-acre living landscape, one of the most intact and well-
preserved artistic environments in the United States.
