💜💚 2026 WINTER COAT & CLOTHING EVENT AT OAK GROVE COMMUNITY CLOSET
The Oak Grove Community Closet is making a huge impact in our community, and this event was a tremendous success! Along the way, we’ve learned valuable lessons, collected generous donations, and built wonderful partnerships.
What many people don’t see is the work behind the scenes. It takes us over a month to prepare for this event, followed by less than 10 hours to transform the entire Oak Grove Baptist Church Family Life Center into a true boutique-style shopping center for families! From sorting to organizing every donation that we get, moving donations and setting up tables to organizing each shopping section, our volunteers work hard to create a welcoming space where families can shop with dignity and care.
Our new preregistration process was a huge hit and helped create a smooth, welcoming shopping experience!
Although the rainy weather meant canceling Touch-a-Truck, families still had the opportunity to connect with amazing community resources.
We want to give a special thank-you to the organizations that joined us:
💜 Girl’s Zone
💚 KG Love Thy Neighbor
💜 Oak Grove Baptist Church Food Pantry
💚 Patriots for Christ Motorcycle Ministry
💜 The Community Art Hub ‘Where Friends and Art Meet’ come ‘Share Your Flair’
💚 United Ministries of Westmoreland County
💜 Volunteer River Counties
💚 Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office
💜 Westmoreland Lion’s Club
💚 WWER
Seeing families leave with clothing, coats, and essentials to help keep them warm this winter made every hour of preparation worthwhile.
To our sponsors, donors, volunteers, partners, and everyone who supported this event—THANK YOU for touching so many lives and believing in our mission. We couldn’t do this without you!
