Did we get this right, Colonial Beach (22443)? 🏝️

Over the past several months, volunteers with Colonial Beach Community Heart & Soul have been listening to residents across the 22443 community. We asked questions like:

🏡 What do you love about living here?
🔧 What would you like to improve?
✨ What are your hopes for the future?

From these conversations and stories, we identified common themes and drafted (8) Community Value Statements written in “we” language to reflect what residents shared matters most about living, working, and playing in our community.

The next step is validation — making sure we captured the community’s voice accurately. Please comment under each statement to share your feedback.

👉 Over the next several days, we’ll be sharing each statement individually so you can review them and leave feedback.

When you see those posts, please let us know:

✅ Yes — this reflects our community
🤔 Somewhat — mostly, but something is missing
❌ Not really — this doesn’t feel right

You can also tell us:
✨ What should we protect about our community?
✨ What should we improve for the future?

Your feedback helps ensure these statements truly represent the voices of the 22443 community.

🌸☀️ SPRING & SUMMER DONATION DRIVE IS HERE! ☀️🌸

It’s time to clean out those closets and make room for sunshine!

The Oak Grove Community Closet is NOW accepting Spring & Summer clothing and shoe donations to prepare for our FREE March Giveaway Event — and we need your help!

🗓 Donation Dates:
Sunday, February 15 – Sunday, March 8

👕 What We’re Collecting:
✔️ New or gently used spring & summer clothing (infants through adults — including plus sizes)
✔️ New packs of socks
✔️ New packs of underwear
✔️ New flip flops & water shoes

Kids’ clothing all seasons.

🛍 Please place donations in BAGS (no boxes) and label by size & gender on the outside.
This helps our volunteers sort quickly and bless families efficiently!

📍 Drop Off Location:
Use the GREEN donation bins outside
Oak Grove Baptist Church
8096 Leedstown Road
Colonial Beach, VA

Because of limited space, we are only able to accept donations during the listed collection dates — thank you for understanding!

Every bag donated helps clothe a local family.
We can’t wait to see how many lives we get to bless this season 💚

Every 2nd Friday starts with a CB Parks & Rec Coffee Walk! We start at Colonial Buzz, 215 Washington Ave. and walk along Town Hill to Colonial Ave. We then turn right and travel to the "Visitors" statue. That's where we take a picture and head toward the Town Pier. If it's not too windy, we'll walk to the end of the pier, take another pic and head back to Colonial Buzz by way of Irving Ave. Coffee is not required but it's there when you need it!
