Items can be dropped off at 262 N. Paw Paw St. Coloma, MI during the hours posted below.

Brrrrrrr! It's cold out here!

There are people in the community who are in need of nice, warm coats. Please consider donating your old coats to Hope Resources, so that we can spread the warmth.

Currently, we only need adult-sized coats for both men and women.

💼✨ BUILD SKILLS, CONFIDENCE & COMMUNITY WITH JOBS FOR LIFE! 🙌

Are you ready to prepare for your next step in the job market? Hope Resources, in partnership with Mosaic CCDA, presents its first Jobs for Life program!

This Christian-based curriculum is designed to help you build practical job skills, gain confidence, and develop character in a supportive, community-focused environment.

📅 PROGRAM DETAILS:
🗓️ Dates: Wednesdays | November 4, 2026 – January 27, 2027 (10 weekly classes; no class during Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s weeks)
⏰ Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
📍 Location: Hope Classroom | 262 N. Paw Paw St., Coloma, MI
🎓 Graduation: Friday, January 29, 2027 at 6:00 PM

🌟 WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
💼 Practical instruction to prepare for employment
🤝 A dedicated mentor to encourage and support you
💡 Insights from local business owners and employed community members
🛠️ Volunteer opportunities to practice and reinforce job skills
🍎 Light, healthy snacks and water provided

🎯 YOUR COMMITMENT:
Attend weekly classes and complete 10 hours of volunteer service by the end of the session. (Expected class size: approximately 10 participants).

ℹ️ FIP/SNAP: Participation may count toward work or training requirements. Ask your MDHHS or Michigan Works! caseworker to confirm approval and required hours.

Our talented volunteer Brian Kiser is in the spotlight this month. A Coloma native, Brian has been volunteering with Hope Resources since March 2026.

Brian has deep roots in the community and says Coloma will always be home. Growing up, his family experienced difficult times, and that experience is what inspired him to volunteer at Hope Resources. As Brian puts it, “I would have done anything for a place like this.” Today, he is grateful for the opportunity to help provide that kind of support to others in his community.

What keeps Brian coming back is simple: the thanks he receives and the people he volunteers alongside. One of his favorite experiences so far has been helping make the inside of Hope Resources “beautiful.”

When he’s not volunteering, Brian enjoys boating, live music, woodworking, and spending time with his grandkids. And there’s a fun fact about Brian that might surprise you—he once served as the dean of a Bible school!

If Brian could describe the spirit of Hope Resources in three words, his answer says it all: “You are welcome.”

We’re grateful to have Brian as part of the Hope Resources volunteer family and appreciate the time, talents, and heart he brings to our community.
