Martha Paulsen volunteered with Hope Resources for four years, and her love of helping others was at the heart of everything she did.

Martha grew up in Sister Lakes, spent some time living in Coloma before recently moving to Wyoming, Michigan to be closer to her sister and three brothers. She is now retired after working for 39 years in the building where Harding’s is located. When she’s not volunteering, Martha enjoys reading—and, of course, chocolate and ice cream!

For Martha, giving back was about caring for the people around us. “You are helping people who are your neighbors and friends when you give back to your community,” she says. One of her favorite parts of volunteering was seeing children come into the pantry with their families and watching them grow up over the years.

We are grateful for Martha’s kindness, dedication, and the many ways she helped to make Hope Resources a welcoming place for our neighbors. Good luck in your new home Martha - you will be missed!

The monthly community soup supper season starts next week!

For the past two years, Vickie Campbell has been sharing her time and heart with Hope Resources. A Coloma resident of 40 years, Vickie is a retired business owner, devoted wife of 41 years, proud mom of 2 daughters, and grandmother to 3 grandchildren. Inspired by her husband's lifelong commitment to serving others, she answered Hope Resources' call for volunteers on Facebook—and says she was hooked from her very first day. Vickie loves the camaraderie of the volunteer team and the opportunity to help neighbors leave with food, clothing, and a little less stress. She describes volunteering as humbling, enjoyable, and fulfilling, and believes that when we all work together, we create a stronger community. Although she admits she's naturally shy, her kindness shines through every interaction.

Thank you, Vickie, for the compassion and joy you bring to Hope Resources—we're so grateful you're part of our family!
