The Heavenly Blessings Food Pantry has been providing food/produce/dairy to the community since 2019. We started out by distributing produce we received from the SETX Food Bank from a low-boy trai

ler parked in front of Colmesneil Town Hall. The availability of the produce slowed down and eventually stopped at the onset of COVID so we partnered with the SETX Food Bank and officially opened a pantry in 2020. We purchase food items for 16 cents per pound from SETX Food Bank based on their limited availability. We build nutritional food boxes that contain a variety of vegetables, fruits, nuts, shelf stable and powdered milk products, rice, pastas, etc. We also offer limited frozen proteins. We serve over 150 families a month from Doucette, Rocky Springs, Rockland and Colmesneil. We distribute food boxes on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month from 9-11 a.m. We have a small volunteer base that is made up of individuals who generously donate their time to work with us based on their availability. Currently we receive small monetary donations from 3 community churches in the Colmesneil/Woodville area and occasionally we receive small monetary donations ($10-$50) from citizens of the community who appreciate our cause.
