A huge thank you to all of the co**se flower fans — and the co**se flower curious — who stopped by our Cypress Lawn table at the Conservatory of Flowers this week.
At first, a cemetery and a co**se flower might seem like an unlikely pairing. One is often associated with grief, loss, and the parts of life many of us would rather not face too directly. The other is famous for its off-putting name and foul smell.
But that is exactly why this partnership made sense to us.
The co**se flower reminds us that something can seem strange, unpleasant, or even unsettling on the surface, while still serving a beautiful purpose. Its pungent smell attracts pollinators that help continue the cycle of life, while its rare bloom draws people together to witness and celebrate its incredibly short one.
At Cypress Lawn, we believe cemeteries deserve to be seen in a similar way. While cemeteries can bring understandable hesitation, they are also part of something larger. Whether through our thoughtful services, our beautiful Arboretum, or the fascinating historical tours offered by our Heritage Foundation, we want people to know that Cypress Lawn is a place where people are remembered, stories are preserved, and legacies continue to grow.
So thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and shared in our Celebration of Life. We were proud to be part of Scarlet’s bloom.
