AMVETS POST 35 – FREE PUMPKIN PAINTING & CARVING CONTEST! 🎃👻

📅 THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH!

⏰ 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

📍 AMVETS Post 35
2147 Virginia Avenue, Collinsville, VA

We're inviting all the kids and grandkids in our community to come out for an afternoon of Halloween fun! This event is completely FREE, and we'll provide the pumpkins and supplies!

🎃 AGE GROUPS & CONTEST CATEGORIES:

🖌️ Ages 5 & Under: Pumpkin Painting — Parents are welcome to assist their little ones!

🔪 Ages 6–11: Pumpkin Carving — Parent supervision and limited assistance are permitted for safety and those tricky parts!

🎃 Ages 12–17: Pumpkin Carving — Independent carving competition! Show us your creativity!

🏆 PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED!

All pumpkins will be judged following the contest, and children will get to take their creations home just in time for Halloween!

📍 All activities will take place downstairs in the basement of AMVETS Post 35. We'll have everything set up and ready to go!

❤️ WE NEED YOUR PARTICIPATION!

At AMVETS Post 35, we love putting together free, family-friendly events for our community. But to continue offering activities like this, we need families to come out and participate!

If you have children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or know a family whose kids would enjoy participating, please help us spread the word!

🎃 PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUESTED!

We need a reasonably accurate head count so we know how many pumpkins and supplies to purchase. There is absolutely no cost to participate, but we do ask that you sign up only if you genuinely plan to attend.

You can register by:

✅ Signing up in person at AMVETS Post 35

✅ Calling the Post to register

✅ Commenting below with the number of children attending and their ages!

Please don't wait until Saturday to sign up! We want to make sure every child who comes has a pumpkin waiting for them.

Patrick & Henry Community College Achievers are making an impact on the community.

“Earning my nursing degree was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. I am truly blessed and grateful for P&HCC helping me achieve the degree that has changed my life. It has enabled me to be an integral part of helping others to navigate some very difficult life circumstances. The training at P&HCC truly prepared me and I know that I was called to do this work. The clinical training helped me learn about the hospital and meet the nursing staff and directors. I now work with the people that trained me at the hospital. I currently work as a registered nurse at Sovah Health in Martinsville. I am glad that I chose P&HCC. They were very supportive and attending helped me save money by being close to home,” said Nautica Campbell, RN.
