Yesterday members of the club enjoyed a beautiful ride behind locomotive 18 at the Arcade & Attica Railroad Corporation. After, the guys traveled to Eden Valley & Clarksburg Railroad for a little night time ride.

From the Silver Creek Vol. Fire Department page:

"The Silver Creek Fire Department extends our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to our brothers and sisters of the Hanover Center Fire Department on the passing of fellow firefighter Robert Hartloff.

The loss of a member of the fire service is felt far beyond the walls of one firehouse. We stand beside Robert’s family, friends, and his entire Hanover Center Fire Department family during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you, Robert, for your service, dedication, and commitment to your community. Your service will not be forgotten.

Rest easy, brother. We’ll take it from here."

Bob was a valued member of the club. He was always cracking jokes and gently picking on people, his way of saying that he liked you. He spent a lot of hours running trains and making the club a generally better place to be. He will be missed. The Gowanda & Buffalo Model Railroad Club is grateful for his service to the community over the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob's family, friends, and fellow first responders in this difficult time.

Upcoming event!

The WNYRHS member Geno Dailey will be covering a cross-country Amtrak trip he completed in October 2025 riding a total of 11 Amtrak trains round-trip, cross country. The trains that will be featured in this program include the Lake Shore Limited (3x), Texas Eagle, Sunset Limited, Coast Starlight (2x), San Joaquins, Pacific Surfliner (2x), and the Southwest Chief. We'll see photography from Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, OH, Railfanning at Roosevelt Road in Chicago, visit Stearns Wharf in Santa Barbara, CA as well as the Western America Railroad Museum in Barstow, CA. This trip also includes a first-time ride in brand-new Siemens Venture Coaches on the San Joaquins (now Gold Runner) service, and lots of interesting sights along the way. We hope you can make it to the meeting for another great story about America as viewed from the windows of Amtrak!

The photo shows north and southbound Amtrak Coast Starlight trains meet at beautiful San Luis Obispo, CA at 3:04pm on Friday, October 24th, 2025.

The program will be held at 7 PM on March 19th, 2026. The address is 100 Lee St, Buffalo, NY, United States, 14210. Email Geno Dailey at [email protected] with any questions.
