North Texas SNAP is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization serving individuals 17 and older living with intellectual disabilities. In 1999, a group of parents frustrated by the fragmented social service system founded North Texas SNAP to provide a solid support system for their adult children living with intellectual disabilities. North Texas SNAP was built on the premise that all persons, regardless of their disability, have the right to enjoy the same range of life experiences in which others in their communities enjoy. Our members have the same hopes and dreams as their peers living without intellectual disabilities; they want to have jobs, friends, relationships and decent affordable housing. We are committed to helping our members achieve these goals and providing them with a solid support system for generations to come.
