Yesterday afternoon, the SJFD was summoned to the Saint John's Cemetery for a leaf blower on fire. It was quickly extinguished - no injuries - and our deceased monastic confreres could again "Rest in Peace"!

Congrats to Nathan Brandecker, SJU '22, new South Metro firefighter!

Meet the last of our four newest Firefighter/EMTs - Nathan Brandecker. Nate grew up in South St. Paul, Minnesota, and currently resides there. He graduated from South St. Paul High School in 2018 and went on to play college baseball at St. John's University where he graduated with a Business and Economics degree. While attending St. John's, he served on the St. John's Fire Department for 3 years. He is also a firefighter with the Inver Grove Heights Fire Department. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, hunting, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with friends and family. Welcome, Nate!
