One of the unique apparatuses displayed by Siddons-Martin Emergency Group at the Municipal Fire School Show is this brand new engine for College Station Fire Department.

Engine 727, or Engine 7, is a 2026 Pierce Velocity PUC pumper that is slated to serve at College Station's upcoming Fire Station 7. This was also the apparatus that brought multiple fire crews with College Station FD to stop by Reed Arena with their rigs!

Big congrats to College Station for their new addition to their growing department!

Your College Station Firefighters on A shift had 2 fires yesterday. The first was a boat that caught on fire and crews were able to make a quick response and prevent the fire from spreading to the building. The next was a single apartment fully involved upon arrival. Crews made a quick push and prevented the fire from causing more damage to surrounding apartments. Our prayers are with the citizens affected. We remain dedicated to serving the citizens, day or night.

The College Station Firefighters Association represents the frontline firefighters who staff the trucks and respond when residents call for emergency assistance. We work every day to serve as a trusted voice for public safety in our community.

Because voters deserve clear and accurate information, we want to clarify what our current petition effort would accomplish. We are asking voters to place three critical public safety propositions on the November ballot. Placing these measures on the ballot does not enact them automatically; it gives the citizens of College Station the opportunity to review the proposals, consider the facts and decide for themselves.

The three proposed measures are:

• Civil Service to maintain high standards and fair, consistent practices for firefighter hiring, promotions and discipline.

• Collective Bargaining to help ensure College Station maintains sufficient firefighter staffing and a competitive benefits package needed to recruit and retain qualified firefighters.

• Binding Arbitration to provide a structured process for resolving contract disputes through an independent third party when reasonable agreements cannot otherwise be reached. This process can save taxpayers money by helping keep disputes out of court.

These measures provide established frameworks for accountability, transparency and stability for firefighters, city officials and taxpayers. They are intended to protect the quality of public safety services College Station currently enjoys without raising taxes.

We appreciate the collaborative work that has taken place between firefighters and city leaders in recent years. However, that collaboration is not guaranteed, and there is no assurance that the same working relationship will continue under future administrations.

City leaders and staff come and go, but College Station firefighters will remain on the front lines, responding to emergencies and advocating for the public safety needs of our community. These measures would ensure that firefighters continue to have a meaningful seat at the table while preserving the voters’ right to make the final decision.

We encourage residents to seek information from reliable sources, review the actual proposals and ask questions. This effort is ultimately about giving College Station voters the opportunity to decide how their public safety system should operate.
