Howdy Talons!!

Day 5 of FOW was a big day for the class of ‘30. The freshman started the day with a formation rehearsal in Kyle Field for their very first March-in coming this Saturday. They learned how to wire their uniforms properly which they will be wearing everyday during the school year. Then they spent most of the day handling any other academic and scholarship prep. The freshman ended the day with a very significant tradition for fish called Fish Yell. All of the fish on the quad gathered at the arches for a yell practice with the yell leaders and a motivational speech given by Running Back Coach Trooper Taylor of the Aggie Football team. Lastly the fish were gifted with watermelon and their first Talon shirt to celebrate the progress made since the start of FOW.

Congratulations freshman. The work has only just begun.

Howdy Talons,
On day 4 of FOW the fish began their morning with a practice physical fitness test to get a baseline of their fitness level. Afterwards the fish were able to take a tour of campus and the Sanders Corps Center, where they learned about the tradition on campus and within the Corps. Finally, the freshman learned about the expectations during the academic day, along with whipping out to their upperclassmen.
Lastly, the zip class of ‘27 taught the fish how to do a boot pull.

Thanks and Gig’em 👍

Howdy Talons,

On day 3 of FOW the freshman had their first introduction to actual physical training, were introduced to room standards and experienced their first room inspection. Through these inspections fish will learn to have an eye for detail and a sense of discipline to keep their space clean and tidy. They also attended multiple lessons alongside other training within the outfit.

To close out the day the class of ‘30 had their first Buddy dinner to boost morale and build camaraderie.

Howdy Talons,
Day one of FOW our freshman participated in one of the most exciting traditions in the Corps, the fish cut. This haircut symbolizes these freshman’s official transition into their role in the Corps and the beginning of their leadership development for the next four years.

Howdy Talons,
Today we welcomed the incoming freshman class as they moved in and prepared to begin their journey in the Corps. Our cadre took their oath, promising never to give up on their freshman, even if they give up on themselves. Finally, they were introduced to formations and evening study time in order to prepare for the year to begin.
Thanks and Gig’em 👍
