A quick (and last-minute!) heads up that PEN America is hosting two events Tuesday, February 10 -- in College Station to draw attention to the rampant censorship of course materials and curricula at Texas A&M. All AABB members are invited to attend. We know this is coming to you *very* late, but wanted to share in case folks in the area are free and would like to join!

Details for the two events:

Free Expression and Academic Freedom: Where do you stand?
12-2pm in Rudder 601, on the Texas A&M campus
Moderated by PEN America's Jonathan Friedman, and featuring writers Sandra Cisneros, Jennifer Finney Boylan, George Packer and Gloria Browne-Marshall, as well as Graham Piro of the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), this panel will take up questions related to free speech and academic freedom, and how to build a culture to support them on campuses.

Your Banned Book Reading List
5-7pm at the Barnes & Noble in College Station
Hosted by PEN America, members of our writers’ delegation and other allies will read from banned books, as we celebrate the power of literature and rally support for free expression on campus.
