Sam Puente ’27 is the first recipient of the Aggie Ring Scholarship from Aggie Century Tree in memory of Andy Duffie ‘78. Sam will receive his Aggie Ring on October 9th, 2026.
Sam is a Civil Engineering student from Houston, Texas. He has shown a lot of grit going through A&M Galveston to be accepted into A&M’s engineering program. He has interned and has now accepted a job after graduation with McCarthy in Houston.
Thank you to all of you who have supported Aggie Century Tree and our efforts to fund $42k to endow this scholarship so each year Aggies can get their ring for free in memory of Andy Duffie '78.
