Symptom of the Week:
💙💙Brain Fog💙💙

Brain fog is one of the many non-visible symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. It can make it difficult to focus, think clearly, remember information, or process conversations and daily tasks.

While others may not see it, brain fog can be frustrating and impact everyday life in meaningful ways.

Understanding these hidden symptoms helps us build greater compassion, awareness, and support for those living with Parkinson’s.

▪️Not every Parkinson’s symptom is visible, but every symptom matters.

💃🕺 Exercise of the Week: Just Dance! 🕺💃

Who says exercise has to be serious? This week we’re celebrating movement in its most joyful form—dancing! Whether you’re swaying, stepping, clapping, marching, spinning, or simply moving to the music, every movement counts.

Our fighters know that exercise is about more than building strength and balance—it’s about having fun, sharing laughs, and making memories with friends. Add in some fresh air, great company, and a little music, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a healthy day!

✨ No equipment needed
✨ Move at your own pace
✨ Great for balance, coordination, and mood
✨ Guaranteed smiles and laughter

Remember: there are no wrong moves when you’re having fun. Turn up the music and keep moving!

🌟 RCF SPOTLIGHT: Meet Fighter Sammy Allen! 🌟

This week we’re proud to spotlight Fighter Sammy Allen! 👊

Originally from Carrizo Springs, Texas, Sammy brings a true rancher’s spirit to the RCF family. When he’s not in the gym fighting back against Parkinson’s, you’ll likely find him enjoying one of his favorite hobbies—cattle ranching. 🤠🐄

And here’s a fun fact about Sammy: he enjoys team roping, proving that hard work, determination, and a love for the western way of life are part of who he is.

💙 Symptom of the Week: Dystonia

Dystonia is a movement symptom of Parkinson’s disease that causes muscles to tighten or contract involuntarily. These muscle contractions can lead to cramping, twisting movements, or abnormal postures and may be painful for those experiencing them.

Symptoms can affect different parts of the body, including the hands, feet, neck, or toes, making everyday activities more challenging.

By learning about symptoms like dystonia, we can better understand the many ways Parkinson’s affects those living with the disease.

💥 Exercise of the Week: Supported Squats 💥

This week, we’re focusing on Supported Squats — a fantastic exercise for building leg strength, balance, and functional mobility.

Strong legs are essential for everyday activities like standing up from a chair, climbing stairs, and maintaining stability while walking. Using a chair, rail, or sturdy surface for support allows you to perform this movement safely and confidently.

👉 Stand behind a chair or hold onto a sturdy surface
👉 Keep your feet shoulder-width apart
👉 Slowly bend your knees and lower into a squat
👉 Keep your chest up and your weight in your heels
👉 Return to standing and repeat

💡 Tip: Only squat as low as is comfortable for you. Focus on good form and controlled movement rather than depth.

Every squat helps build the strength and confidence needed for everyday life. Keep moving and keep getting stronger! 💪
