Howdy Animals,

This Whitebelt Wednesday, we are recognizing Cadet Lee, a Communications major with a minor in Leadership from Austin, Texas. After graduation, she plans to commission into the Army, hoping to fly Blackhawks.

Within A-1, Cadet Lee serves as a Squad Leader, PR Sergeant, and Training Sergeant.

Her favorite memory from her time in the Corps is the March to the Brazos fish year, walking down with her buddies and getting to know the upperclassmen on the way back. 

Her piece of advice to the class of ’30 is “Rely on those around you. Your buddies are going through the same thing as you so you can all work together to overcome the challenges of fish year. With that, enjoy fish year because it’s the most fun you never want to have again”.

Howdy Animals,

Today, we celebrated something truly special: 150 years of A-1. ♠️

It is such an incredible honor to be part of the oldest outfit on the Quad and to carry on a legacy that has stood for a century and a half. Today, we had the opportunity to step back in time and truly appreciate where we came from, learning about the countless generations of Aggies who built Animal A-1 into what it is today.

This banquet was more than just a celebration. It was a celebration of 150 years of friendship, tradition, loyalty, sacrifice, and memories. Getting to hear stories from so many old Ags who came back to celebrate their outfit was truly unforgettable. Hearing them share their experiences, memories, and the impact A-1 had on their lives made it so clear that being an Animal is something that stays with you long after you leave the Quad.

There is something so special about looking around a room and seeing generations of Animals who all share the same bond, the same pride, and the same love for Company A-1. From the oldest Ags who helped shape our history to the newest fish who will carry it forward, we are all just one small part of something much bigger than ourselves.

Huge shout outs to Dr. Griffin, Ms. Valerie, Mr. And Mrs. Wetzel, and our logistics chain without them this wouldn’t have happened!!

150 years of history. 150 years of tradition. 150 years of Animals.

Howdy Animals,

This Whitebelt Wednesday, we are recognizing Cadet Aguirre, a Human Resource Development with a minor in Business Administration from Tyler, Texas. After graduation, he plans to commission in the Army, where he hopes to become a Military Intelligence Officer.

Within A-1, Cadet Aguirre serves as the Second Platoon Sergeant and Public Relations Sergeant.

His favorite memory from his time in the Corps is the Arkansas game at AT&T Stadium with his buddies.

His piece of advice to the class of ‘30 is “Enjoy your time with your buddies. You only get to be a fish once, so have fun with it”

Howdy Animals,

This Whitebelt Wednesday, we are recognizing Cadet Avila, a Forensic and Investigative Sciences major from Fort Worth, Texas. After graduation, he plans to attend a Part 141 aviation school to pursue his goal of becoming a medevac helicopter pilot.

Within A-1, Cadet Avila serves as the Platoon Sergeant. Outside of A-1, he is involved in Corps Tennis.

His favorite memory from his time in the Corps is the March to the Brazos.

One piece of advice he has is: “Embrace the suck.”
