MSC FISH

MSC FISH MSC Freshmen in Service and Hosting (FISH) is a Freshman Leadership Organization at Texas A&M University. Sub-committees meet on Sunday nights.

FISH provides leadership opportunities aimed at enhancing its members' purpose and identity by engaging in community service and program development. MSC FISH is a Freshman Leadership Organization at Texas A&M that focuses on using the power of community service to develop leadership traits within its members. FISH is comprised of 64 freshmen members, with a staff of 16 Assistant Directors and 7 E

xecutive Directors. The FISH staff helps freshmen become acquainted with the campus and community while serving as mentors. Throughout the year each freshman has an opportunity to interact and work with both fellow freshmen and staff members in the planning and implementation of various programs. All of FISH meets once a week on Wednesday nights for General Committee Meetings, focusing on leadership and personal development . MSC FISH is anchored by four sub-committees, which work to put on all of our programs. The four sub-committees are Service and Hosting, Development, Leadership, and Kyle Field Day. Each sub-committee consists of 20 freshmen, 4 Assistant Directors, and 1 or 2 Executive Directors. The social part of FISH is rooted in eight schools of fish. Each school is lead by an Assistant Director partnership and is made up of ten freshmen: five guys and five girls. Schools go on roadtrips, hangout during the week, compete against other schools in FISH competitions, and a wide variety of other activities.

Outreach is a free-flowing and creative subcommittee responsible for maintaining a positive image for MSC FISH both within the organization and throughout the community. We strive to foster an inclusive and welcoming environment while also achieving professional growth. Through maintaining a strong media presence, strengthening our relationship with the Bryan/College Station area via fundraising events or connecting with FISH’s strong alumni network, there are many routes that freshmen can take to grow on a social and professional level while having fun doing so!

Kyle Field Day is a multi-tiered subcommittee that focuses on the development and leadership of freshmen through a selfless service mindset. Events such as FLO Bowl tailgate, KFD Kickoff lunch, and Kyle Field Day inspire members to lead and give back to the community.
