One ride closer to Ukraine.

This photo was taken during Jakob Kepka's previous journey through Ukraine, between Nahachiv and Yavoriv in the Lviv region. What may look like a simple ride is something much bigger — a mission driven by resilience, hope, and solidarity.

As an amputee, Jakob knows firsthand that life's challenges do not define our limits. Through his HopeRaising Expedition, he continues to prove that strength is not measured by what we have lost, but by what we choose to do next.

This August, Jakob will once again return to Ukraine for the second edition of his bicycle expedition, riding across the country to support those whose lives have been forever changed by war. Every training ride, every kilometer, and every day of preparation brings him one step closer to that goal.

We are honored to partner with Jakob and support this incredible mission. In the weeks ahead, we'll be sharing more updates from his preparation and the impact this journey will help create.

Together, we can show Ukrainians that they are not forgotten. https://elevateukraine.app.neoncrm.com/campaigns/hope-raising-expedition

Behind this young boy stands a city still covered in broken glass, debris, and the scars of war. Among the damaged facilities were five kindergartens, four schools, a vocational education institution, and a college — places where children should be learning, dreaming, and building their futures.

And yet, in the middle of the destruction, this child chose to sit down, pick up his accordion, and play.
Not because the war is over. Not because the danger is gone. But because Ukraine refuses to surrender its spirit.

The day after the attack on Lukyanivka, he performed among the ruins, raising money for the Ukrainian military — the very people defending his home, his city, and his future. There is something heartbreaking about seeing a child surrounded by the wreckage of war. But there is also something extraordinary about witnessing such courage.

Russia can damage schools. It can destroy buildings. It can shatter windows and leave neighborhoods in ruins. But it cannot break the determination of the Ukrainian people.

This young boy's music became an act of resistance. A reminder that even after the darkest nights, Ukrainians continue to stand, help one another, and fight for their future.

Today, on International Children’s Day, we stand with the children of Ukraine.

Every child deserves to grow up in safety, attend school without fear, and dream about the future with hope. Yet for millions of Ukrainian children, war has disrupted their childhood and changed their lives forever.

Together with our partners at saveukraine.official, we remain committed to supporting children and families affected by the war and helping provide the resources, care, and opportunities they need to build a brighter future.

Join us in supporting the organizations and initiatives working every day to protect, empower, and uplift Ukraine’s next generation. Because every child deserves a childhood.

Almost every day, Jakob is spending nearly 4 hours on the bike preparing for the Hope Raising Expedition — an incredible journey that will take him across Ukraine to raise awareness and support for Ukrainians affected by war.

These long training rides are more than preparation. They are a reminder that every mile ridden is connected to a greater purpose: standing with Ukraine, supporting resilience, and showing that people around the world have not forgotten.

Over the weekend, Kyiv endured one of the largest and most terrifying aerial attacks since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles rained down on Ukraine’s capital and surrounding regions overnight, killing civilians, injuring nearly 100 people, and damaging homes, schools, businesses, and cultural landmarks.

Families once again spent the night in metro stations, basements, and shelters — listening to explosions above them while praying for morning to come.

This is the reality Ukrainians continue to live through every single day. Even after years of war, Russia continues to escalate its attacks against civilians and critical infrastructure in an attempt to break the spirit of the Ukrainian people. But Ukraine remains standing.

At Elevate Ukraine, we stand with the families who lost loved ones, with the survivors now cleaning glass and rubble from their homes, and with every Ukrainian refusing to give up in the face of terror. Ukraine does not need the world’s attention only when headlines trend. Ukraine needs continued support, continued advocacy, and continued action.

Please continue speaking up. Continue helping. Continue standing with Ukraine. https://elevateukraine.org/donate

Every kilometer has a purpose.

Jakob Kepka is back on the road training for the HopeRaising Expedition — preparing for the long journey ahead in support of Ukrainians affected by war.

This June, Jakob will also share the mission at a fundraising gala in Ontario supporting Ukrainian medical students at McMaster University, connecting with members of the Ukrainian community from Toronto, Hamilton, and the Niagara region. Opportunities like this help raise awareness, build support, and keep Ukraine in people’s hearts.

From training rides to international advocacy, the work continues every single day.

Thank you, Jakob, for your dedication, resilience, and commitment to Ukraine.

You can help keep this mission moving forward. Support the HopeRaising Expedition and stand with Ukraine by donating, sharing, and spreading awareness. https://elevateukraine.app.neoncrm.com/campaigns/hope-raising-expedition

While the world moves on, humanitarian teams in Ukraine are still working every single day to save lives.

This month, Vienna Mission for Ukraine and Operation Change delivered more than 100 tons of humanitarian aid across Ukraine, including generators, medical supplies, hygiene products, blankets, protective equipment, and emergency support for hospitals and vulnerable communities. Their teams drove thousands of miles through dangerous conditions to make sure help reached those who need it most.

TacMed Ukraine ambulances also continued lifesaving evacuations, transporting hundreds of patients in April alone and nearly 8,000 patients since the start of the mission. But these operations are becoming harder as fuel prices continue to rise and the demand for emergency medical support grows.

At Elevate Ukraine, we are proud to support organizations doing real work on the ground inside Ukraine. These missions are not just about supplies — they are about keeping people alive, helping families survive, and reminding Ukrainians they are not forgotten.

Ukraine still needs the world’s attention. Please help us continue supporting lifesaving humanitarian efforts by donating, sharing, and standing with Ukraine. https://elevateukraine.org/donate

While much of the world slept, the people of Kyiv spent another night running to shelters, listening to explosions, and praying their homes would still be standing by morning.

On the night of May 13, Russia launched one of the largest attacks on Kyiv in recent months. Residential buildings were destroyed, families were buried under rubble, and entire neighborhoods woke up to fire, smoke, shattered glass, and unbearable loss.

As of today, at least 24 civilians, including children, have been confirmed killed in Kyiv, and dozens more were injured as rescue workers searched through the ruins for survivors.

For us at Elevate Ukraine, this attack feels especially personal. One of our board members, Mariia Ivanova, who serves as our Engagement Manager, was in Kyiv that night. Like millions of Ukrainians have done for years, she spent the night in fear and uncertainty as missiles and drones struck her city.

No person should have to live this way. No child should grow up learning the sound of ballistic missiles instead of peace. No family should go to sleep wondering if they will survive the night.

Ukraine continues to endure unimaginable suffering, yet its people continue to show incredible courage and resilience in the face of terror.

We ask our community not to look away. Stand with Ukraine. Speak about these attacks. Support humanitarian aid. Help us continue delivering assistance to civilians whose lives are being torn apart by this war.

Every donation, every share, and every voice matters. https://elevateukraine.org/donate

As Ukraine continues to defend its freedom, conversations about rebuilding the country after the war are already underway — and Elevate Ukraine is proud to be part of that important work.

Three members of our board — Chairman Roman Popadiuk, Vice Chair Kent Dale, and Board Member Jon Queen — contributed to a major new report titled “Rebuilding Ukraine: The Road to Post-War Reconstruction.”

Presented at a recent New York City conference on business in Ukraine, the report brings together leading experts to help shape Ukraine’s future in areas including energy, defense, agriculture, education, veterans support, housing, and economic development.

The report emphasizes that reconstruction cannot wait until the war ends. Ukraine’s future must be built now — through international support, strong democratic institutions, economic reform, and long-term investment in the Ukrainian people.

At Elevate Ukraine, we remain committed not only to humanitarian relief today, but also to helping Ukraine rebuild for generations to come.
