Do Good Institute The Institute serves as a campus-wide hub for research, philanthropy, social innovation and nonprofit leadership.

Through hands-on learning experiences and a curriculum built on real-world application, the Do Good Institute is inspiring the next generation of do good leaders, spurring social innovation and solutions locally, nationally and globally. The University of Maryland launched an effort to become the nation’s first Do Good Campus, with the School of Public Policy establishing the Do Good Institute in

September 2016. The Do Good Institute will showcase the inspiring community of student changemakers, innovators, philanthropists, social advocates and future nonprofit leaders at the University of Maryland, as well as the faculty, staff, colleges, schools, departments, units and fearless Terps who make up our Do Good Campus.

Through the Do Good Institute’s Impact Interns program, undergraduate and graduate students are interning with more than 70 mission-driven organizations. They’re contributing to causes like education, public health, climate, social justice, and the arts.

Students are gaining real-world experience in communications, research, advocacy and program development while building skills and growing their networks.

This summer’s cohort comes from over 10 academic colleges and brings a wide range of backgrounds, interests, and ideas—connected by a shared goal to do good.
