Cub Scout Pack 631 - Woodward Academy Atlanta, GA marked the final official weekend of summer camping with a fun-filled experience. Returning and new scouts actively participated in flag ceremonies, cooking, fishing, hiking, fire starting, knife safety and even designed their own knot tying adventure.

The Cub Scout Pack 631 - Woodward Academy Atlanta, GA Pinewood Derby was held this weekend. Special thanks to scouts and leaders from Scouts BSA Troop 631 - Woodward Academy for helping with all aspects of the race. Three design award winners were selected by Troop Leaders and a District Executive. This year’s race featured over 30 derby cars, the most in recent years. As you will see in the pictures, there were some great looking cars!

Cub Scout Pack 631 - Woodward Academy Atlanta, GA scouts and family members spent the weekend in Chattanooga. We participated in the Sleep in the Deep program at the Tennessee Aquarium which included an after hours private tour of all exhibits, a look at a number of behind the scenes locations and spending the night watching the fish swim as they went to sleep next to them. The highlight for our scouts was feeding sting rays and sharks on Sunday morning.

Ten scouts and their parents braved the elements last weekend at Woodruff Scout Camp, enduring challenging weather conditions that included rain and freezing temperatures. Despite this, they still enjoyed hiking, fishing, and various skill workshops in the beautiful north Georgia mountains.

The Pack 631 community rallied for our most challenging Pinewood Derby in several years. Parents and scouts alike jumped in and helped overcome a series of obstacles. We also received support from a timely visit by the CM of Pack 1030. At the end of the day, the final times for the 8 fastest cars were separated by 1/10 second. Even more exciting, every car finished each heat. All scouts were able to celebrate seeing their hard work cross the finish line over and over.

A group of Cub Scout Pack 631 - Woodward Academy Atlanta, GA and family members blasted into space and went deep into a cave this weekend. Scouts experienced 3G, mixed rocket fuel in a lab, were up close to a lunar rock and so much more at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. While at DeSoto Caverns (Majestic Caverns), the scouts learned about the geological formations and history in addition to the light show and outside activities.
