Thank you all for another great year!
**WARNING**
Long thank you post incoming!
Well, the dust has finally settled after our 10th annual Fire In Your Mouth, Fire In The Sky! We have to start by saying, huge thank you to everyone that has come throughout the years! We have seen families grow, people get married, have kids and bring them all to this amazing event. We've watched your little ones grow into young adults as they come back every year for their favorite summer event. Your family has become part of the Hannon family, helping us, allowing us to entertain you, and growing together.
This event was initiated 10 years ago when our family wanted to start hosting more Hannon ran events. Steve and Rhonda both stepped up in a big way to work their butts off to organize this event. Sadly, Rhonda did not make it to see her 10th event. She lost her long battle with cancer in 2020, and because of covid, we did not have our show that year. Having the show this year meant more than we can put into words. This event is for all of you, but every time a red colored firework goes off, that one is for you Rhonda β€
I would like to take a quick moment to thank all of our fundraiser and charity: United Way Oxford,
We say this a lot, but it takes an army to run this event and we have the very best soldiers! We honestly couldn't and wouldn't do it without you! So here's a shout out by name to our amazing volunteers for our 10th annual event: Mark Pfaff, Troy Anderson, Kate Anderson, Ryan Gastinger, Kim Gastinger, David Roark, Jake Lenos, William Michael Manning Rambo, Daniel Ross, Jeanne Hannon, Ryan Arnold, Amy Louise Sandlin, Ronald Charles Gumm, Jennifer Campbell, and a slew of high school volunteers that Jennie Fagin-Spurlock and her boys worked endlessly to make this event run so smoothly.
Sometimes our pyrotechnics don't get the credit they deserve, so here's your crazy pyro team for this year: Lead exhibitor Steve Hannon, assistant pyrotechnics Skully Solo, Joe Goodwin, Crystal Naka, and Jesse Middleton.
Have to give a shout out to all our pepper eating contestants, and especially our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners! They all suffer for your entertainment (and some bribery from Buffalo Wild Wings) Also a huge shout out to all our spicy food entries! These people put their love into making awesome spicy dishes for judges to try! With these two events, we are definitely one of the hottest events around!
Keeping kids entertained, we would also like to thank Schwab Family Farm Market LLC, Oxford Ohio for bringing their train for the kids to ride and Grandma's Bouncy Houses for donating all those awesome bouncy houses! Preble County Co****le Association GROUP for not only running charity corn hole tournaments, but also donating corn hole boards to raise money! Of course we couldn't forget those amazing ladies from Super Parties that braved the heat, wearing princess dresses to pose for photos!
Since this is a charity event, all our musical acts play for free, and that in itself needs to be mentioned. This years musical entertainment was: The Kiwis, Jack John Fitzgerald Nuttall, Ghostdriver, Bunch James & The All Night Drivers and Organtica. Huge thank you to all musical acts supplying listening entertainment for our ears! Awesome job!
Last but by far not least, our sponsor. We are very lucky to have such amazing sponsors that work with us to make this event happen! T-Mobile Oxford and Michael Moondog Hamilton were our top sponsors and can't thank them enough! Along with donations by: Shademakers Garden Center, Buffalo Wild Wings,
AutoZone, El Burrito Loco, Texas Roadhouse, Anytime Fitness Oxford, Wild Berry Incense, and Skyline Chili!
In closing, we just have to say thank you to everyone that has supported us over the years. 10 years for this event is such a mile stone, and even though it's a corny saying, it couldn't be more true..."we couldn't and wouldn't do it without you"
Much love from all us at Hannon's Camp America to all of you! Can't wait to see you again next year!
