Our Teagan passed away suddenly on a Saturday morning, in the sunshine of her life. She was only 14 years old and had so many plans.
Teagan was a vibrant, strong, and deeply kind young lady, full of hopes and dreams. She loved sports, music, art, being outdoors, and playing the ukulele. More than anything, she treasured her time with her family, her dogs, and her dear friends.
One day, Teagan was given a school assignment: to describe her version of a perfect day. We have a video of her practicing her speech. She is reading from note cards, repeating it over and over, determined to get it just right. In that speech, she said something like this.
‘My perfect day would be a day when every person in the world does one kind thing. It can be big or small. It could be something like picking up a piece of trash, giving a hug, planting a tree, or building a school for kids in need.’
Teagan truly believed that if every person did one kind thing, the world would be a better place.
There are many ways to honor a life so beautiful and so full of promise. We have chosen to carry Teagan’s spirit forward by establishing the Teagan Vaughan Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Through this scholarship, we hope to support students who reflect Teagan’s kindness, compassion, and love for life. This is for young people who will continue to make the world brighter, one act of kindness at a time.
If you feel moved to give, we are deeply grateful. If you feel moved to share this story, that is a gift as well.
Thank you for helping us keep Teagan’s light shining. We want to keep her legacy strong for many years to come.
With Love,
Teagan’s family
