AWG Cares Donates to Coleridge Area Fund/Christians Caring Group
Recently, AWG employees from the Nebraska Division proudly presented a $2,500 grant award to the Coleridge Area Fund, an affiliate fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation, in Coleridge, NE, for the Coleridge Christians Caring Group. This AWG Cares grant award was made possible by Cynthia Puntney, AWG Nebraska employee, who submitted the grant request to the AWG Cares Committee.
The Coleridge Area Fund is a community-led effort to use philanthropy to sustain and build the community of Coleridge and the surrounding area. The Fund works to increase charitable giving and to make grants that help create a sustainable and prosperous community. The Fund encourages people from all walks of life to give back to the community by providing a full range of charitable giving opportunities.
Coleridge Christians Caring is an ecumenical group that works to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community. Families and individuals in need can receive food from the pantry and some financial help as funds are available. The funds will be used to help the pantry maintain a supply of grocery items for areas residents that are at risk throughout the year. During the CoVID Pandemic, they assisted several families who were food insecure. The group also provide gift certificates to families for fresh items if needed.
AWG Cares is AWG’s employee-managed, company-supported and community-focused non-profit charitable organization. It was established in October 2017 to help AWG employees support the charities they care about and give back to the communities where they work and live. AWG Cares focuses its charitable giving efforts in three areas or “pillars” (Disaster Relief, Medical Research and Hunger/Homelessness).
