Today, we honor Juneteenth — a day of remembrance, reflection, and hope. As we recognize the enduring significance of freedom and equality, we also acknowledge the importance of learning from the past and working together to build a more inclusive future.

At Care Connection for Aging Services, we believe every person deserves to age with dignity, respect, and financial security. By supporting one another across generations and communities, we can help create a future where all older adults are valued and empowered.

Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. An estimated 5 million, or 1 in 10 older Americans experience elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Older people are mistreated more often than we think due to the lack of supports for older people in our communities. It doesn't have to be this way. Working together across our networks, we can generate awareness and foster action to end elder abuse. Start where you are, use what your have, and make a difference. Educating our communities on how to prevent abuse means we are all doing our part to support everyone as we age. Supportive communities and resources are essential to engaging older people and preventing abuse. The more communities we engage, the more people we have who can make a difference for older and younger communities alike.
